As a brand new driver, the Hastings Direct telematics policy was a great price for my little Peugeot. Having seen friends’ black boxes I was expecting something bigger, but the telematics device is really small and barely noticeable on my dashboard. It was super easy to set up and I like the way it provides feedback on each drive. For example I found I was accelerating quickly when I first passed my test but when I saw how this was impacting my driving score, I adjusted my driving. Another plus was that I could start driving straight away while the black boxes was delivered. As it happens, it arrived next day anyway. So far I’m really impressed with how stress free it’s been as a new driver. Would highly recommend!

Filling in all the details is relatively easy, but when offered to cover multiple motorcycles adding one or more to the initial policy, it's not possible to simulate the price and decide. Adding this feature would make the online pages really 100% usable

At the point of each renewal the acceptance criteria is reviewed and as a result the perceived risk posed by the policy details can change. It may be the case that on this occasion the policy details cannot be covered because of changes to the criteria and the perceived risk being too high. If you need to start the policy from a different date, the incorrect policy would need to be cancelled and a new one put in place with the correct date. The site is heavily computer based. There is an app which you need to access the policy details. However, I could not get the app to register the PIN needed for sign on. Numerous exchanges with the IT team did not resolve the problem The work around is to register afresh every time I need to view the poilicy details.
