Absolute rubbish customer service when needing assistance with obtaining a new home insurance quote today (30th November 2024) as the Hastings website sign posted me to call them rather than allow me to continue with setting up the policy online. Two occassions both staff were curt and didn’t want to run through the details of the policy. If they were better trained to understand the pitfalls of the online quote experience, they may be better inclined to want to help solve issues faced by potential customers. Needless to say, I won’t be progressing with Hastings, a narrow escape from inadequate customer service.

Dont touch them. Appalling service - false promises and hours on phone !!! Do not use if you want decent car insurance - they cannot provide !!

Using phone as sat navigation fell off windscreen and on to dash board which wasn't safe partner in passenger seat picked it up so it was safe got done for phone usage on youdrive

The Telematics team does take into account that you will have to adapt to the road ahead and that this as well as other road users can cause you to take actions that may impact your score. As a result they acknowledge that your driving score won't always at 100. For the sake of the policy, it just needs to be above 30. I've given Hastings Direct five stars only because I renewed my motorcycle insurance cover and it was straight forward, it wasn't the cheapest but I trust the wording in the policy and hope they professionally deliver what's written if I should unfortunately have to make a claim. Making a claim and how it's handled is the true test of any insurance company so really the star system can be quite misleading when considering buying a policy.

After a frustrating first attempt to have my insurance renewal re-worked ended with me reversing all the changes, and looking at taking out a new policy, I had become frustrated with what should have been a simple change. However, after a follow up call this week with the intent to cancel my policy, Michelle was able to implement all the changes, then review the fine details with me, refine the cost, and provide a superb outcome. Meaning I can continue my policy, and stay with Hastings. Thank you again Michelle for all the help on the afternoon of 25/11 !

I have just renewed my car insurance with Hastings. I had found a cheaper, quote with a compareable level of cover on line with another 5 star company and when I informed Hastings of this, after checking that my new quote was offering a similar cover to their original quote, they agreed to match the lower quote. The whole process was made so much easier as I was able to talk to a real person rather than a mindless, Chatbox AI and their advisor, Marvin could not have been more helpful or pleasant to deal with.
