“The policy and process was all fine, did not mind having the monitoring tab and app installed, but peed at getting points deducted for breaking, and acceleration. Breaking , first off had a woman and child deciding to step out and cross in front of me, so sharp breaking, second was a motorist pull over from the opposite side to me and decide on a 5 point turn, more avoidance breaking. Acceleration, when you need to join traffic from a no lights junction of course you need to accelerate to get out safely, already had enough of this stupid one action fits all app.”

The Telematics team does take into account that you will have to adapt to the road ahead and that this, as well as other road users can cause you to take actions that may impact your score. “I had to cancel after 1 day because I was mis-sold a policy, sold as “app only policy”, where the policy is managed by yourself on the app. Instead it needed data sharing for 30 days to track all driving activity and behaviours,which was not transparent. Essentially a black box for 30 days that could impact future policies.”

Hello, Thank you for your feedback concerning this. We do strive to disclose the kind of policy this is before it is purchased so we regret if this wasn't seen. Please note, you only needs to share your trip/location data with us for 30 days of your policy term. This can be any 30 days and doesn’t necessarily need to be in a row. Once you've shared their trip/location data for 30 days, you'll be informed in the app so you can remove your location sharing permissions, and we’ll stop collecting data. We regret that you had to cancel the policy and I hope you have since been able to get suitable cover for your vehicle. ~Theo, Social Media Team
