“Avoid this company like the plague!!
Yes their insurance is cheap and I didn’t expect a 5* quality service however, GoSkippy actually cancelled my insurance policy without me knowing this, I didn’t think to call and ask as they were still taking my monthly premiums from my bank account therefore I believed I was insured. 3 months later I was unfortunate to be in an accident which has written off my vehicle and left me with points a fine and also no vehicle and in a worse off financial state I was in prior to being in contact with GoSkippy! When I contacted GoSkippy to ensure I was insured for the police who told me I wasn’t I was told my policy was cancelled on xxx with no reason as to why and that was that. When I challenged them about taking my monthly premiums from my bank account they told me they hadn’t, at this point I’d already confirmed this with my bank personally. They then told me I had to provide bank statements proving this and they will refund what they took. GUESS WHAT... still no refund and to top that off the also want me to pay a cancellation fee which is currently outstanding when I didn’t cancel my insurance
AVOID AVOID AVOID”
“Absolutely appalling service when I initially took out the policy.. Had 6 requests for docs which I sent every time. Eventually received an email to say cancellation was in process as they had not received the relevant docs. Emailed again and received an email to say they had received the relevant docs. 24 hours later received an email to say policy was going to be cancelled as had not provided relevant docs!!! Finally received another email confirming they did infact have the relevant docs. This took up an unnecessary amount of my valuable time. Recently changed my car, called customer service to advise of changes and told to log into portal to make changes. I did and my account advised I could make changes but the site wasn't working. Had to call customer service again and was dealt with in a very abrupt manner. I felt I was an inconvenience. Cannot wait until I can renew my policy in August and WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN. STEER WELL CLEAR!”
“Go Skippy are a nightmare....steer well clear. Took out a policy and had endless trouble as they claimed I hadn't paid, eventually had to send credit card statement to prove them wrong. No hint of apology or explanation. ConstTly asked for copies of licence etc, provided and was told we don't need them. Lo and behold 2 weeks later letter asking for copies of documents and threatening to cancel policy...again send them through to be told we don't need them. Again endless hours on phone getting it sorted with no apology or explanation.
Had to make a claim. Passed from pillar to post, was advised to accept an offer of £1000 by claim handler. Didn't seem right so I asked if that's was the valuation on bike. Waffle about adverts being wrong and starting prices etc. Had to ask direct question of what is value of bike and send me the evidence to support you valuation. Lo Andy behold valuation was £1275. Had to pay an additional premium as bike was considered not to be at home address. Duly did so and hen claim handler said we will settle but have to deduct the additional premium from settlement. Arguement about whether I had paid or not, and yet again I ended up having to send in my credit card statement. I have to deal with this policy on behalf of my son who is not in the bestb of health and every time they contact me they claim he has no time authorised me to deal with the policy despite the fact I know he has.
Worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. I regret the day I ever clicked on Go Skippy, they couldn't be more disorganised or unhelpful if they tried. I am surprised they are allowed to continue trading.”
“Go skippy have professional trained crooks, skilled to take your money or not to pay.
keep me on the phone its just hours of my time your wasting.
how can I nearly lose my life come out of hospital 10 weeks later to get told its to late to make a claim and had to go independently.”
“Due to a change in employment I was required to have business use cover. The first attempt at contacting Go Skippy kept me on the phone for over half an hour; the online portal never worked, and the second attempt at speaking to a representative resulted in another terminal wait for a response - only to find you wouldn't give me business cover!!
Cancelled the policy - unimpressed. You can Go Skippy......”
“I bought a car I want to change remove the old one and put the new one.
I was struck because after 45 minutes in queue the line get cut, it was raped 3 time in the end leved the new car”
“Took out a policy on one of my cars, they asked for proof of who I was and also for my NCB which I sent in. They then cancelled my policy after taking more money from my account that morning, claimed I never sent anything and when I complained said there was nothing they could do and also that I owed them £95 for the privilege of them messing everything up. Despite several communications going back and forth, it's still my fault and wont deal with their mistakes. I've had to escalate it to the ombudsman to try and get the matter resolved, despite giving them every opportunity to correct the problem it's still my fault they cancelled my policy. Stay well clear, more then happy to take your money, not deal with complaints and take money from your account on the same day they decide to cancel the policy”
“changed my insurance of my new car to be told three weeks later the change hadent took place would never use them again and taking advice to seek compensation”
“Aviod at all costs. Insured my BMW with them as they were by far the cheapest (should have known!) Basically I stated a had 9 years no claims through a company car which I input on the comparison site, I then doubled checked this would be accepted by calling them to explain. After being cut off twice whilst they checked, at the 3rd attempt I was told provided I could provide a letter from the MD of my employer to verify the 9 years it wouldn't be a issue. At this point I paid £1600 for the policy. I then obtained the letter the next day and uploaded it to their website. After around 1 day I received an email rejecting my letter as it didn't state I was the sole driver and they needed a letter from my company to state this. I AGAIN obtained a letter from the MD stating I was the sole driver and uploaded this. Next day I received another email asking for proof of address, copy of log book (which I had sent to dvla as I had just bought car) copy of payslips for both myself and my son who was 2nd driver to prove occupation, photo of car and vin number, copy of photo page of both our passports and copy of driving licence summary through Dvla. I had just finished sorting all of this and I received another email stating they were cancelling insurance as my proof of no claims couldn't be accepted as it had no expiry date ?? I then emailed them to inform them I was contacting Ombudsman as what they were asking was now wholly unacceptable. I received a call from Camille who was very pleasant and she explained it was the underwriter (Watford) who had cancelled the policy from 9/4/18, I would be charged £75 (which is stated in email) she later waived after I complained. She then rang the underwriter, after waiting 5 minutes she came back and said nothing could be done. She then offered to quote without the 9 years no claims, with my son as a driver. It came out at £8000. I was then told the money would take 3 weeks to be refunded after cancellation date, again totally unacceptable as that money is needed to to insure with another company. Why wasn't I told this at the beginning when specifically asked. Next stop Ombudsman. Again please avoid, save yourself the stress.”
“good price but very poor customer service. takes ages to sort something out and always on hold for ages. the only time they pick up quick is the sales line as they are fast to take your money but once they have it they don't care about you any more.”
“They sent the wrong insurance and then when I phoned to say it was the wrong type of policy as I needed the buisdness insurance they said I would have to take out another policy at the cost of £600 more on top of what the other policy price so well over a£1000 as the company the original policy was with don't do buisdness insurance. Terrible company now want to take me to court because I canceled the policy and refused to pay any more of it as they weren't able to provide what I asked for as quoted. Just confirming artists after more money”
“Customer service is appalling. A company happy to take your money but not to help on the phone and web site doesn’t work so you end up stuck. They may be cheap but this shows in their service.”
“my car got caught on fire by vandals and they refused to pay out and im still fighting the case, customer service is awful and just pass you around to differnt people who aren’t interested in helping at all. Save your money and go with someone else, dreadful”
“This insurance company is an absolute con! Charge extortionate amounts for insurance, not the reasonable prices they advertise. Then expect you to pay them for insurance you will not have if you cancel due to their negligence. Stay far away from this company!!”
“What went wrong they ask?
What went right would be a quicker question to answer (fucking nothing). I went through every single bloody department and spoke to god only knows how many people, (who are not at fault) just to sort out my policies. The polite but clueless people I spoke to are unfortunately part of the most useless insurance company which is GoSkippy. Two of the six phone lines I was referred to said they weren't sure if they were even still connected with GoSkippy. Furthermore the online portal is as useful as a fart in a lift.”
