“Avoid!! goskippy my whole experience has been dreadful as a first time insurer i never expected a company could act this way all all.
After a week of haveing insurance from the 28/01/2024 they send me a email stateing i told them i got my license on the 28/03/2024 and they changed it to 3/10/2023 (both dates are wrong my license is vaild from the 5/10/2023) costing me an extra £390 to be paid within 1 week or they will cancel my insurancethis was a straight up lie from them 1. Who get insurance if they dont have a license 2. Why has the company let me buy insurance without a license 3. Why have you waited a week to tell me aswell is confuseing.
Anyway i asked for proof multiple times!! They have NEVER Acknowledged any of my questions and give me any answers,
The only thing they have done is demand money this started on the 12/02/2024 and have 1week to paid the £390 or on the 19/02/023 they would cancel my insurance atleast that what they said and told me so i move forward as such beliveing this to be true because they told me this was going to happen as i never paid the £390.
So that should of all be done with then but no for some reason goskippy never cancelled my insurance that really frustrating i dont know why this happend they lied to me,
This is where they confused me even more after the 19/02/203 i was getting emails asking for additional info on a named driver but asked after they said i was cancelled i told them the company cancelled my insurance and they didnt listen and again said i had 1week to provide to info or my insurance will be cancelled on the 25/02/2024 again i never send them the info and told them you already cancelled my insurance why they have go back on the word Multiple time and tryed to charge me another a 2nd month insurance after the fact the cancelled me on the 19/02/2024 is shocking this has happend and to try Intimidate me with bailiff is the cherry on top.”

“If i could give 0 starts i would! DO NOT use goskippy even if it is the cheapest. They are useless is an understatement! They’ve taken 3 months to sort my claim out and they still haven’t. They dont listen to the customer at all pass you from pillar to post and get no results. I have been without a car for months now they took it in a matter of a few days but then neglected me until i had to open a complaint and ask for my right off value. Then after going through two different management dealing with my complaint they then decide to say its not the right department keeping in mind i rang customer service and was transferred to the supposed to have been the right department. I have had to take it to the ombudsman due to there negligence and just dreadful company.”

“I tried to do a renewal at the same price a new quote was giving, over £15 a month cheaper with half the excess and instead of meeting this, the renewal just got cancelled and I had to take out the new contract paying a deposit”

“Stay clear of this insurer, all good until something goes wrong!
Cancelled my policy with no prior warning, just recieved an email on a Sunday afternoon telling me not to drive, tried to call and their offices are closed on Sundays. Got through on the monday, they said they didn't receive the correct docs when I have proof that I have sent. No chaser from them to request additional document or no warning that policy is due to cancel. Call centre based in South Africa, left on hold for long periods of time 40mins!, staff incompetent with a lack of empathy. Told me to wait 2 days for a call back! So now car is uninsured, I have a cancelled policy logged on the database and am unable to obtain insurance elsewhere whilst I wait for 2 days for a call back because someone there side didn't do their job.
Take your money somewhere else”

“I had lost my job and had to sign on to the job centre, I then couldn't afford my car, I owned it but couldn't afford the fuel, tax, insurance etc long term or short term, so decided to scrap my car for next to nothing, cancelled my tax, breakdown, no more fuel etc all went fine, I asked go skippy and explained my situation of earning £80 a week signing on and that doesn't allow me to pay for food etc.
They replied saying I can cancel but it will be £118 to cancel, how do insurance companies justify cancellation fees and how do governments allow this to be ok, insurance in general is a money grab anyway, over 13 years ive never claimed anything.
anyway I saw cancellation fee in the agreement and accepted these companies have no souls and just want the money so I paid it over the phone.
now a week later I get emails saying ive not paid and will get debt collection people involved, threatening me after I have paid and never once missed a payment.”

“Spent 40 mins on the phone to Customer service lady because she didn't know what she was doing.
Paid a deposit to the company and then found a cheaper car insurance so cancelled with in the hour. But the still took £25 for canceling”

“awful company, THEY cancelled my insurance due to ‘no documents’ that i had sent on numerous occasions and therefore charged me £300 for THEM cancelling, i’m only a 19 year old girl and cannot afford this. How come i was insured for 2 months and then all of a sudden on the 3rd month needed documents, this is an awful way to run a business, i highly wouldn’t recommend”

“I recently purchased insurance from them, but after 40 days, I requested an upgrade to business insurance for 2000 miles annually. Unfortunately, they informed me that they do not offer such coverage. When I asked to cancel, they charged me £320 for cancellations. I'm disappointed with their service and would advise others to be cautious when dealing with them.”

“Shocking! Been driving and insuring my cars since 1987 renewed my insurance as usual by comparison website as I always do. Paid in full ( avoid that at all costs) everything fine email received saying no documents required. 3 weeks later email received saying policy to be cancelled due to fraud / dishonesty. As you would I immediately rang the company and asked what the issue was (citing all the above) . They would not discuss anything , so again as you would said “how can I remedy this if I have no idea what is supposedly wrong “ and still nothing.
I emailed and was told they still believed there to be fraud or dishonesty.. again I ( being extremely distressed at this point I. Might add) still got no explanation!
I was then told if you provide ALL these documents they would consider again.
I duly did submit everything V5 NCD , Payslip , DVLA summary and nothing .. no acknowledgment, nor reply , nothing.
Subsequently I have reinsured my car with clearly a more reputable reliable , and bona fide company who also by way of transparency from me got all the same. Documents .. my insurance is fine .. no issues only that - this awful go skippy and underwriters NOW cost me more money as I have to declare a cancellation on my application… still waiting for refund - absolutely disgusting lack of ANY transparency on their part and ZERO customer service - it seems reading other reviews they make their money by ripping people off… avoid avoid AVOID”
