Tried to complete direct debit but said ID check failed and to phone a number on website. Phoned number, after much 'selecting of numbers to be pressed' it started to ring. Then there was much fumbling around noises as if their phone had been dropped, then after a silence someone spoke. I explained the problem, gave the reference number and the line immediately went dead. I feel like I'd just spoken to a scammer. Keeping an eye on my bank account and going somewhere else.

Out sourcing claims (AX) and no support, despite contract being taken out with GoSkippy. No customer care as out sourced to third party. Would advise extreme caution if relying on insurance cover that actually supports you.

With a renewal quote of £670 from current insurer LV, I checked in with Go Skippy and their quote for exactly the same cover was £363. It was a no brainer and I accepted that offer immediately. No problems encountered in doing it all online.

Stay away from them at all cost. After they renew my cover and I sold my car I been charge almost £200 for cancelling very basic car insurance which is almost half of what my whole year cover cost.

Up until two weeks ago, I had a car policy set-up with Go Skippy Insurance for just over 18 months with no hiccups or issues. Two weeks ago, I changed to a new car (a nearly new model) which I was due to pick up from my dealership. I was advised by my dealership to ensure that I contact my insurer regarding the cross-over of insurance policies for the day of picking up my new car and to make sure I explain it's a new car etc and to ask them to input details manually as they may be able to find my new car on the system. I then contacted Go Skippy a few days before I was due to pick up my new car to ask if I could update my policy with my new vehicle details (at that point in time I was happy to stay with this insurance company) but this was when the trouble and inconvenience started. I ended up speaking to three different customer service advisors on the phone - the first one was constantly pausing in their speech, seem totally disinterested and wasn't very helpful at all, the second one asked for a copy of the V5C form for my new car before inputting details manually (which I explained I couldn't yet provide as I hadn't picked up the new car) and then proceeded to hang the phone up on me and the final call seemed to be quite promising as they started to ask for the details of my new car until all of a sudden the advisor was advised that they couldn't continue helping me any further and then the call ended. Three different experiences with three different advisors for the same company. I felt my experience on the phone overall was very unprofessional, extremely unhelpful and a total waste of a few hours. After this backwards and forwards, I decided to take the hit and cancel my insurance policy on my old car (I had to pay a cancellation fee for this) and set-up a new policy for my new car with a more reputable insurance company in which I sailed through the entire process and they instantly helped me input all my new car's details etc. In my overall opinion, given I was happy to continue with Go Skippy at one point in time they've ultimately lost a customer and I certainly won't be returning to this company in the future.

Please don’t go with this insurance company, I had a email saying that my auto insurance would not be auto renewed, so I got another auto company, then they took the money out of my account making it go overdrawn, I spoken to them on the phone on two occasions, promise me that they would refund the money, I’m still waiting for them to do this, on Friday they promise it would be back in my account by the end of day. Still waiting. Terrible customer service

It was so sad to come to realise that the insurance company like goskippy will treat a customer like this by concealing information for their financial advantage. I bought a policy and later cancel it after 5 Months, way beyond the 14-day cooling period stipulated in the policy. Instead of the normal 75 GBP that was stated in the policy document which was provided to me at the time of purchased, a whoping sum of 266.07 GBP was charged for cancellation fee for reasons known only to the company, even when I have not had a claim nor had a claim made against me. I could not believe a company as such will stoop so low for financial gains.

Went through popular comparison site Couldn’t revise mileage I did change it but it mustn’t have registered ??? I was told on phone same day I couldn’t change without paying and when I wanted to cancel was told to pay as well ?? I was told this on the phone My policy does not start till end of month as I did it early as advised by media to get better price ??? Ts and Cs about costs to revise or cancel should be made clearer at the start ..so people please check !!! Waiting to hear from Skippy as I have sent Email. Said would get back in 24 hours hopefully ?? Not a good start for me. Haven’t used Skippy before Hoping I can get some resolution or learn a lesson from human error and not being all that online savvy !!!

They cancelled my insurance which was fine as I wasn’t very happy with the service. The very next day then then took a months payment after telling me that I will have to pay. A £35 cancellation fee a month later I then get another email saying I owe them £250! I am furious and will bad name these all the way! Disgusting behaviour when I called them robbery and such a poor and terrible company! I asked for a refund bar my £35 cancellation fee which they went on to explain that it’s all in the terms and conditions after I told them I had an email on black and white saying only £35! Nerve ever again use this disgusting company. I will make sure nor I no ever does either and spread the word. Plenty more places out there do not give the scam artists your hard earned money!

Unbelievable cancellation costs if you sell your car and stop the insurance be aware, they threaten debt collectors with every correspondent i would expect a cancellation fee but not to the tune of £224! they also ignore and complaints about it. I will never use this lot again and avoid all of the 'smaller' and unknown type of providers in the future very poor quality insurance company avoid!

Please whatever you do do not use this insurance company. An amount was agreed through Vizion (The broker) Who told go Skippy the wrong amount, once I confirmed this with Vizion who admitted they were at fault they and I sent multiple emails to Go Skippy that were completely ignored. We are missing around £2000 and Go Skippy just pass you round different departments and wont actually confirm sending us the excess money. They are complete scammers. PLEASE AVOID

Abysmal communication. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. Third party were going to cover the cost of my repairs and courtesy car. They had told their client he could not claim with his level of cover. He had third party, fire and theft so obviously they believed he was at fault. GoSkippy even sent me a letter confirming non-fault. The third party client then went to a solicitor and made a Personal Injury claim on my GoSkippy insurance. GoSkippy contacted me and then told the Third Party insurer that I was at fault which I understand they have to do but they did not inform me of this. I found this out from the third party - (Hastings Direct if anyone wants an insurance that will speak to them about their accident and keep them up to date on the process). They obviously have cancelled my repairs and the courtesy car they provided, which GoSkippy were not in a hurry at all to initiate despite this being the purpose of me spending nearly £2k on comprehensive insurance. I guess they decided it would be cheaper for them to say it was my fault than challenge the solicitor (especially as they could argue the damages and injury were as a result of the third party’s actions… because it was his fault).

After cancelling my policy on the 8th Jan due to a change in vehicle type, I received a final invoice from goskippy. The invoice had no due by dat, only stating "Please note: If we do not hear from you by 03/02/2025 the balance will be referred to a debt collection agency; Insurance Collections Bureau." A week later I received an email from their credit control department declaring "Despite our previous correspondence [referring to the single email] your outstanding balance remains unpaid" and "Please Note: If we do not hear from you by 04/02/2025 we have no alternative but to refer you to our debt collection agency, Insurance Collections Bureau" (note that this date does not match that previously stated). I sent them an email expressing that I thought this was all a bit strong for so early on given that the invoice was received only a week ago. I declared that the amount would be paid by the date given in their first correspondence. Stresses and annoyed, I signed off wishing them many policy cancellation in the future. I then received a 3rd email which addresses non of the concerns that I had raised in regard to their conduct, but did reduce the amount of time they were allowing for the amount to be paid. It read, "Thank you for your email. Kindly note that there is an outstanding balance on the policy for the amount of £121.84. Please be informed that you do have 7 days from the 20/01/2025 to make this payment before the debt is handed over to the Insurance Collections Bureau." Disgusting way to conduct business. It seems they have no interest in the recommendations of past customers.
