“Absolutly terrible experiance! Enough to give someone depression!
GoSkippy are an insurance broker...unfortunatly the insurance company they use (Eldon insurance services) are absolutely awful!
I had an accident and it took 6 months of arguing with 5 different parties to eventually get my car fixed. If I hadn't put in so much effort and argued, they would have happily returned it still broken (they actually ordered the garage to return it to me unfixed - it sat on my drive for a further month and a half after this....while I argued for it to be fixed comletely).
There were several companies involved:
GoSkippy (insurance broker)
Eldon (insurance company)
WNS (claims handling company)
Somerset bridge insurance (underwriters)
Patterson's (repair garage...this company was the only decent one who helped me through the process)
Asside from the repair garage, none of these companies seemed to liaise with each other. They lied, were inconsistent with their own terms, made up rediculous statements due to non existent knowledge of cars and made every excuse to either shift the responsibility to another company or wriggle out using one of their some print clauses.
In the end I had to get the financial ombusman involved and go and see lawyers and representatives to get advice on getting my car fixed and who was liable to fix it.
Would NEVER EVER INSURE WITH THEM AGAIN”
“Do not be bought in with this company they charge a fortune to cancel your policy. My car came to the end of its lease so I had to cancel my insurance ant the charged me nearly £200 in cancellation charges, for what ??cancelling my insurance as i no longer own a car? No better than convicted crooks. This company are getting away with robbery and I will be reporting them to the financial ombudsmen.”

“I phoned up Saturday To pay my car insurance. And get told to ring back on the 10th before 3. So I get up early as I work nights to ring them now there telling me to ring back after 3, feel like there messing me about....think I need to find a new insurance company. .”
“Someone has used my email address to set this insurance up...They made multiple quotes all with slightly different names, all which came through to my email address.
I called GoSkippy and informed them of this who said it was not an issue and the person just probably accidently used my email?! No care about the multiple different names they used in getting the quote...My email address is my first name which is totally different to the name of this person.
Shocked that GoSkippy would not investigate this, was left frustrated on the phone with the Indian call centre who simply didnt care..”

“TOTAL SCAM GoSkippy is a SCAM!!! I had my insurance with them for 21 days. Paid £157 upfront, £75 deposit and £75 first months premium. Cancelled the insurance on the 21st day and now they want to charge me another £120 to cancel the insurance. Thats £270 to cancel my insurance which I held for 21 days. Tried to speak to a manager but was told there are no managers, none of the staff is helpful, nor do they know what they are doing. Was told "goskippy is a business and we are here to make money and that I'd still have to pay all these charges even if the policy lasted the whole 12 months". Literally a ripoff. I don't understand how is it that these scam companies are allowed to continue to trade. SCAM SCAM SCAM. Beware do not be fooled by their low premiums on any comparison site!!! ABSOLUTE SCAM”
“Robbed me of my money. Gave me £400 pound for a stolen bike worth £1500. Avoid at all costs. Absolute con artists. Deducted an obscene amount due to a simple mistake where the bike was down as garaged, maybe due to insuring through a 3rd party site.”
“This Insurance companyare Crooks!
They added on fees after my policy was agreed and paid for also add on a list of different fees if you decide to leave.
I was chasing a payment they agreed to refund as it come out just as the policy was cancelling.
I didn't hear or receive any payment so I called them back they then refused to refund any payment and deny the conversation I had with one of there managers Judy N.
I would avoid them at all costs you will end up paying more than you realise.”
“I made an honest mistake when applying for car insurance, thinking that a No Claims Bonus applied from when you received your license instead of only applying when you are insured. I have explained this to the company and yet they refuse to acknowledge me, insisting that I send them documents which do not exist and threatening to cancel my insurance. I am happy to alter my policy, and pay a little extra, but have no way of doing so. Useless.”
“Horrendous. I have been on hold trying to get through to speak to someone for 50 minutes now, and cannot her through. I need to update my policy urgently due to getting a new car, and not being insured.”
“On the two occasions I have contacted customer services I have been dealt with by kurt rude advisors; and on both occasions was cut off. I tried to ring back but could not get through. On another occasion I was told they would ring me back; I am still waiting.
The price initially was fair; but I wanted to add my son to my insurance for one week, but to make any changes such as this they need to be made for the whole year. I have never encountered this before with any other car insurers and would strongly advise NOT to use this company - please pay the little extra and go elsewhere and experience much better service.
