My daughter had insurance with this company for 2 months and every month they threatened to cancel it, the first time is because she had to wait 1week for the black box to be installed, then they said ignore it as by law it can take up to two weeks for installation, the second is because they said she was tampering with the box as the AA advised us to take it to the garage due to mechanical issues so the vehicle wasn’t in use as the garage had it for over a week waiting for a part, they found this to be suspicious! and the third and final time they accused her of suspicious activity as the car hasn’t been driven, although we previously told them that we will be abroad for Christmas for 2 weeks however, they continually harassed her by asking her to reply to emails and phone calls which we advised them that we would make contact on our return due to poor internet connection, however they continued to text and ring my daughter to advise that they’ve cancelled it so when she wrote a negative review they text and rang to speak with her ! This impact has affected the family especially during Christmas these people are ruthless and insensitive at this festive time. They proceeded to take the direct debit of £360 that month and then refunded her back £29 which she received after she left a negative review about how she’d been treated during the 2 months when signing up with Carrot. We will be communicating with Management of Carrot on our return to the UK and if no resolution can be found we will be exposing this company to the BBC consumer show for further investigation and justice. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID at all costs! It’s a very unorganised and stressful experience dealing with this company who ultimately only seem to want to collect big deposits from young people and a few months instalments or less for some it seems, then have pleasure in cancelling young people’s car insurance without no notice not even 24 hours, my daughter was sent an email at 5pm saying her insurance will be cancelled by 11pm when my daughter tried to call 5pm to discuss it as she had no knowledge of even being investigated she got a recorded message saying the company was now closed ! How backhanded to send a email so late in the day letting her know that the insurance will expire in 6 hours at 11pm ! Disgusting behaviour, just unbelievable! Despicable ethics, this company need to be named and shamed ! Don’t be fooled by there cheap quotes! It’s a ploy I think, to reel young people in, then money is taken and insurance is then cancelled! It seems, within a few months! There is a pattern this company’s practice! Avoid at all costs, it’s not worth all the stress and lengthy phone calls that only result in cancellation without you even knowing that they are investigating you! Very underhand practices they only seem to want to threaten cancellation and cancel without any warning.

I’m a new young driver and thought this… I’m a new young driver and thought this insurance would be good for the black box and decent rewards etc. the rewards are good but carrot cancelled my policy due to bad driving behaviour even thought my app says 10/10 and when I ask them to check my black box they say it is working fine. They have given me 7 days notice yet their terms and condition says if you consistently get negative scores then your policy will be at risk of termination and I have only got 2 warnings!!! This isn’t conistant my scores are always green 8-10 my score is so this is not fair at all !!! Really upset me

Customer service is absolutely disgraceful. Wouldn’t recommend this insurance to anyone. My partner had his blackbox fitted, 2 days later received an email saying it has been cancelled all because he didn’t answer the phone when he told them he works unsociable hours and was at work. They cancelled his insurance the night before but didn’t revive any notification about this till the following day at 10am. Been sent through so many customer support people. None of which seemed like they knew what they were doing. Unhelpful and absolutely a disgrace So much for “we aim to treat all customers fairly”

If you ever need to claim don’t bother with this company. Almost 5 weeks since I made a claim and still no pay out, impossible to get hold of anyone. A shambles of a company!

Asked for the policy to be cancelled as i wasnt told it was gona be a black box when i was setting up the policy over the phone! The only way u can talk to the company is over live chat which takes hours to connect! The agent told me they had technical issues so was gona get a email with a quote to cancel, which i never have recived! Terrible servis, wouldn't even rate this company 1 star!

They have a telephone number but not one answering! I have received an email with was saying that my changes has been completed but I never requested anything like that. I have been on LiveChat for 3 hours but no one picked up my request!!!

Absolutely not worth It. Terrible customer service. Not there when you need help and don’t help on cancellations. Rip off. Told me my policy will get cancelled and when I try to get in contact they do not help at all and have long waiting times. For the past 6 days not one agent has got in touch on live chat. Appalling. Terrible insurance.

May be the cheapest but please do not use this company, you will end paying out of the nose, they say they have sent you messasges when they have not, and ask you to upload documents to the dashboard which does not work. They cancel without a grace period and then charge you an extortiante fee when they cancel your policy without warning. Please use a company that is more profession and understanding, biggest regret was using this company and we are £450 out of pocket for a recently passed driver is not good at all. Rude, discourteous, arrogant. Would not reinstate policy despite pleaing with them and explianing that it was not my fault and I tried to send them the documents and get in touch with them.

New policy holder and had a query. I’ve been trying to get contact for days. No one to speak to. Just Bots. Been on a live chat three times and each time waiting over an hour long which have ran past the working hours. Steer clear. Terrible customer service.

I've been insured with Carrot for three years for them now to not send me an renewal invitation. I spent several days trying to contact them to renew my insurance(about a week before it actually ran out) . For them to send me a NO REPLY email and say I'm no longer insured with them. An absolute disgrace!

Live chat takes forever to connect with an agent. Wait like an hour to get hold of an agent and when they do they rush you with your query. Need updated live chat system which is faster and runs quickly and smoothly :)

My granddaughter is trying to get hold of you to change her bank details for the direct debit she has not had any luck either by phone or live chat the direct debit that was initially set up was her grandads as he paid the deposit now it needs to come out of her bank !!!

I’ve been trying to contact someone as they have emailed me saying my card details are invalid, yet they were still able to take money from my account, so I don’t know how that makes sense. I got directed to the finance company that deals with the finance of my policy however, they weren’t even able to find my policy on their system, how does that make sense? It would be much better if they had a phone number that we could call rather than using the horrible live chat service.
