I was a bit surprised and suspicious when having paid £11.99 for an unlock code for my mobile broadband device I had to pay another £23.99 on top. To be legally fair if I had read all the small print that information was written in there somewhere. Finally I eventually went ahead and paid the second payment and within an hour my device was unlocked so for £36 I was able to easily unlock my EE device. Having said all of that, EE unlock your device for free but I haven't ever got it to work and always ended up with an error message. And a final finally.... I have tried three other sims from rival major providers and EE is by far the fastest.

This did work and my son's phone is unlocked. However it is very easy to miss the text that says that payment is in 2 stages, the first £12 to check details and then a further £26 to actually get the phone unlocked. We missed this detail and the information is not available on the website. It would be good if it was clearer.

More expensive than at first glance but did the job we required - successfully unlocked phone reasonably quickly. Totalled around £40 by the end. Pretty easy to do - just click through. We didn’t read the full info about pricing so were surprised to be charged an additional amount to complete the unlock half way through the process - this could be made clearer rather than having to trawl through the Ts&Cs. That said, if you need to unlock a phone at short notice and don’t mind spending a lot of money on doing so it worked well for us in the end.

This service was not as open book as advertised since there were other processes which had to be done in order to unlock the device. I was not properly informed of the stages until the first stage was done and so forth. Also, the premium service was required for my device which was an extremely high fee and there was a long time between waiting for the service and to the actual completion. All in all, I waited over 6 weeks to unlock my device from the date of contracting with your device which was not appreciated.

Absolutely amazing service and the propmt reply and help from the staff was second to none..... my process did take over a week, but the staff were on had to reassure and keep me up to date.... unfortunately this unlocking does not seemed to have worked on my device but I suppose it's a risk you take doing things like this online and paying up front.... if this had worked I'd have thought it was great value unfortunately I won't be retrying

I thought everything was really easy but was surprised when half way through it’s stopped (after paying 11.99) for them to ask for another £26 to complete disappointed to say the least.

The process is not clear. One pays for an unlock only to find that there is another step involving another payment the another after that. One should be informed of the process and the subsequent payments before the initial step.

Unlock worked and only took around 2hrs. But there are hidden costs, after the initial reasonable payment, they then ask for another larger payment to complete the process. I found that a bit odd but it dud work and got my dad set up with his 'new' phone.

The user interface is clear and easy to navigate. It was unclear that there would be an additional payment after the eligibility check. This should be made more clear with the full cost of the unlock stated up front in a clear way so your customers may make an informed choice. Following the payment, the progress report in the web browser showed the unlock progress to be 7% complete. However, I received an email soon after the second payment to inform me that the phone had been unlocked. It is unclear whether the progress tracker in the browser is up to date or not.

Did what they said they’d do. The price initially given is not the full price. There are two payments which would have been better if they were clearly displayed. The progress bar(%) is not clear either. Only noted that it had finished by an email in my inbox

Good service and fairly quick, it took an hour or so to get the unlock code. HOWEVER, beware because there is an additional charge after you've paid the first one and started the process. To a certain extent they've got you because you've already paid the first fee and started. If you are aware of the second (hefty) fee and continue everything worked OK

Everything went swimmingly. Phone seems to be working fine after the unlock. Besides the price being a little high for such a simple process that didn't take very much time only 2 small things could make the process better. 1) Be honest about the price for a full unlock up front. Don't charge a fee simply for checking to see if your phone is capable and then charging a 2nd fee for the actual unlock service. Be up front and show your fees for "code only" and "remote unlock" services and you shouldn't charge for a service that does nothing but check the unlock status and doesn't actually provide a service at all. 2) Have a way to setup a scheduled day and time for the unlock procedure should you need a remote unlock service. I didn't like that I had to wait for someone to contact me about scheduling a day and time when I could have scheduled it using a calendar system. You lost a couple of stars for pricing and scheduling of the unlock service.
