Ordered a bottle as a Christmas present and was awaiting the notice of on its way and instead of that received notification that they did not have any after having paid so as you can imagine not a happy bunny

Hi Andrew We are sorry for the inconvenience caused. Due to the website and our physical store sharing the stock, during busy periods such as Christmas it is possible that by the time we get to pick your order it may have sold out of the shop. It is a rarity and this year we had a few instances due to a lot of people shopping locally rather than online. If this does ever happen, we will advise how soon we can get a replacement if so, offer an alternative or issue a full refund as we did on this occasion. Regards Drink Finder

Excellent service from Drink Finder - but the delivery company having been asked to reroute the delivery to a collection point didn’t and delivered to the original address at almost midnight. Unacceptable as the recipients are over 90 years old.

Hi John Thank you for your contact, we have been in touch with the courier and they say based on scans and GPS of the couriers van that it never went to the original address, just to the pick up location. We were hoping to have received it within 5 working days …. That has now passed it was a gift . Appointed courier had mixed up the consignment …. I only found this out by contacting drink finder myself when the goods hadn’t arrived after a week. Courier now saying goods haven’t been received yet- and no further updates. Communication has been poor hence the low score.

The purchase arrived, all be it to the wrong address, which meant I had to carry a very heavy box from the place it was delivered to, to my address, which meant frequent stops to get my breath as I'm over 70

For a second time delivery was very poor. The wine box was left outside the house. The driver did not ring the bell and just drove away and then falsely stated we accepted delivery personally. Last time box left outside in rain. Need to improve delivery process.

I can’t fault the speed of dispatch and delivery but was very disappointed to find bottles individually wrapped in huge quantities of PLASTIC ! We won’t be using this supplier again until they have changed their packaging to conventional cardboard

Hi Michael, Thank you for the review and bringing the case forward to us. We are reviewing how to move forward with this. We vary our packaging which is very dependant on what we can get from suppliers. With the past year, a lot of businesses have moved online and the demand for packaging is very high and we are taking what we can from where we can to keep up with demand. The pouches used for your order are made from 50% recycled material and are recyclable (council depending). Our packaging materials are more towards the 80% card and recycled material (shredded boxes from stock received) and 20% plastic. We are reducing it where possible the best we can. I searched for, and ordered, a 2019 Camel Valley. But turned out that was not actually available. DF then got in touch to say they would be sending the 2020 instead which I didn't want. They promised a refund but did not send a credit note confirming the transaction which I expected.

Hi Stuart. Sorry that there was a vintage swap, this unfortunately happens when a vintage becomes unavailable and it moves on to the next. A refund was given right away via Sage Pay (straight back to your card). There would not be a credit note given as well. Just a straight refund which you received. Drink Finder

Damaged Port I ordered the Taylors Historic Limited Edition Reserve Tawny Port from Drinkfinder, which is still available on their website. It was packaged and insulated in a huge over-sized box, carefully packed in with piles and piles of padding. On opening it, the historic limited edition package had completely fallen apart - with the top and bottom panels removed and the side panels with dents from the bottle. The different parts of the packaging look like they had been glued together poorly in the first place; and when I tried to supeglue them it was clear they are not designed to hold something as heavy as a bottle of port. It was a Xmas gift I had to hand it over that day, which meant after the superglue attempt had failed I just removed the packaging in toto and presented the bottle on its own - but this isn't great for something that's supposed to be "historic limited edition", where the stand-out packaging is what stands it out and makes it prestigious. On contact, drinkfinder did come back straightaway (which is good) but they said this is a known issue (which is bad). They have offered me a refund on the economy postage, which is OK but not massively impressed with this - nor the original product, for what is quite an expensive purchase. They did say I could return it all for a full refund, but having gifted the bottle that's not an option for me. It was my first time using the site and am not sure I'd use it again. Would suggest avoiding this product if you're buying it as a gift.

Hello again Craig, We are sorry this inconvenience happened during transit. The item left us in good shape and as you have stated was very well packed to ensure safe travel. Yes it had become a known fault after we had sent yours as we had another one or two customers have the same issue. It comes down to the cold weather and the glue giving way due to the temperature according to the producer. What makes this product as a Historic Limited Edition is that they made them in low numbers and in homage to the history of the shape of the bottle while keeping the price of the product very reasonable. The packaging is there just for a little back story. We came back to your query right away and offered the refund of the shipping as the bottle and contents were fine and could still be gifted. This was not to your liking and we offered to have the bottle and packaging collected by our courier at our expense to then issue a full refund. Sadly you had already given this as a gift and was of no use to you. We feel we worked within the means of our policy and gave quick and quality customer service with good solutions, sorry this did not meet your expectations. Regards Drink Finder

Despite me requesting my package to be left in my green waste bin, I returned home, a full 2 hours post delivery, to find said package on full view on my doorstep !!

I made an online order for two bottles of Malbec and two bottles of the 2016 Zinfandel that was shown as " in stock " on the website. My order arrived and instead of 2016 Zinfandel I was sent 2017 Zinfandel and instead of Malbec I was sent Cabernet Sauvignon ! With work commitments I couldn't ring the following day to complain so I sent an email to both email address quoted on the website. Having had no response from my email I then had to make time to ring the company. The response I had was that the emails aren't looked at very often, ( then why quote them as a way of contacting you ) they send a different vintage of wine if they haven't got the vintage you ordered in stock ( then don't quote it as being in stock if it isn't ) and the two bottles of Caberbet Sauvignon was an easy mistake to make as the bottles are next to each other !!! Not what you want to hear when as a customer you expect right first time. Although the mistake was put right I wouldn't have the confidence to order from you again.

As with all wines vintages do keep moving forward on this occasion new stock had arrived and had not been updated fast enough. We make every effort to ensure customers are informed of any vintage changes on their order. We do state on our website 'Vintages may vary from those shown, but we will update as quick as possible. In these circumstances we will send the next vintage available. Please specify in the extra Info if you require a specific vintage or strength.' We do try our best when picking orders but unfortunately sometimes human error can occur. Once you called we got the issue sorted there and then, we dispatched the correct bottles that day which arrived the following day to be with you for the weekend as you wished. We are sorry again for the inconvenience caused, we do hope that the customer service you received and the speed in which we sorted the problem shows we do care and has restored some faith. We didn't receive the item ordered, they did change it but with the inconvenience of having to be in a second time for delivery. Nothing offered for the inconvenience.

Drinkfinder itself was acceptable but delivery was very poor. I was informed on the tracker that the delivery had taken place at 11:30 am and signed for by 'Horsley'. However on returning home in the evening the recipient was not informed by card or text that the delivery had taken place. When I rang to ask if he had received it and after a lengthy search it was found behind some bins in a pool of water with sodden packaging. This is not acceptable particularly the forged signature. Please do better.

To who ever this may concern, I have already sent an email but after my email being neglected I have no other choice. I am a first time buyer from your website and was quite pleased that you had the product I was looking for as I wasn’t sure on what I was buying as it was a Christmas present for a loved family member.I placed my ordered and was happy to see that my parcel would arrive today. I knew I wasn’t going to be home so from the email the DHS delivery company sent me I requested it would be sent to a neighbour. I am very very angry to see the £30 bottle of gin I ordered was thrown over my back gate !! To which it could of hit and harmed my dogs and damaged the product I purchased !! The box was distressed but my product seems to be in ok condition. I am very disappointed and disgusted from this delivery service as I would of assumed my parcel would of been handled with care considering it’s a glass bottle !! Not to mention the box is completely unusable. As a new customer I can’t say I will be returning due to the way the delivery was handled. Teah Stapleton

Email from company stated delivery in 3 to 4 days and it has now been a week. Still waiting. Just called the company and found my address was incomplete and the package was on hold. The company could have called me back when they found this issue but I called them first.

Hi Mike, The orders are automated and we do not check every address manually. The address needs to be filled out correctly when the order is placed. The courier had not contacted us before you to inform us that the address was not completed by your self. All the best Drinkfinder

DELIVERY NOT GOOD ENOUGH. The delivery by DHL(UKMAIL) was awful. It took 4 attempts. The first three the deliveries were running so late that the driver appears to have given up stating 'they could not find the property'. Strange how on the 4th attempt, when the delivery schedule was on time, they found us easily!!

I did not receive an email saying I had completed my order. The photo on the site was of a 2014 bottle. I phoned the next day and asked if my order had been received and that it was a 2014 bottle, both confirmed. A bottle of 2015 vintage arrived !!!! Not good. Courier just left it on my bench at the front of my house, luckily I was in and heard them as they left (I realise this is not drinkfinders fault)!!!

Hi there, We had two bottles one was 2014 and one was 2015. Unfortunately a new member of staff missed that they were not the same and sent the 2015. We found out about the vintage mistake via a review, have since contacted you and offered to have the 2014 collected and to deliver the 2015 but you declined. We will always do our best to correct any issues. As for the courier we are sorry to hear the local driver has done this and have passed on the comments to the company. Drinkfinder

service was good but 150 euro for 6 bottles of red wine from the wrong region of italy. Was looking for lacrryma christi from Sorrento.was was below par too very average dry
