Tables damaged, unhelpful delivery man, unable to illicit a response to telephone calls and emails following delivery. Nothing pro active came from direct home living

Added additional delivery charge a week after order with no notification....... Blamed own website but still not fixed....... very poor

Unfortunately there are certain geographic locations where we have to charge a sur-charge, like Scotland and Northern Ireland for delivery. These are set by are courier and we just pass on the charges. We do try to be as competitive as possible. Many thanks
Ordered a wonderful extending round table and chose Saturday delivery at extra cost of £25. A few days later was contacted by delivery company to discuss suitable del date. I told them of my Sat delivery but they stated they had not received this instruction from Home Direct but they offered a midweek delivery at a time I would accept. I contacted Home Direct to ask for refund of £25 but was told the extra was due to my location (Glasgow). I told them their websites states FREE UK delivery (with exception of Highlands and Islands as usual). They stated their small print that mentions they would process order and contact clients if excess del charge would apply. My order had processed fine with a nice call from Home Direct thanking me for the order and with NO mention of additional charge. Mike from Home Direct then came up with an excuse that they have problems with their web ordering page!!!! I tried ordering today out of curiosity and still offer free delivery to my postcode so I am sorry Home Direct I believe you should honour your contracted invoice which I have notified Trading Standards about. If you had only been honest up front regarding excess charge for delivery to one of the UK's biggest city's then I would have been fine............. Not a company I will deal with again........

Chair is the size for a doll house and legs spread out when you sit on it as if it will break. such a waste and it costs more to return it then it does to keep it

I was given a delivery date, and the chairs I had ordered were not delivered. I called and was ensured they would be delivered two days later, upon waiting in for the delivery (for the second time) I was then to find that only one of my four chairs had arrived. I have now had to schedule a third delivery date for the remaining chairs. Your customer service team has been very helpful when I've called, but communication and actual service has been pretty poor throughout.

I ordered 5 Charles Eames dining chairs, received 4 damaged and mouldy chairs and one went missing. There was no protection at all when the box arrived. Some look has been used. Called customer service to find the missing one and returned the rest. Fortunately, unlike other reviews who have been waiting long time for the refund, I got the refund within one week. Went on Tesco to buy exactly the same chairs with only around £2 more each, came with speedy delivery and excellent packaging. All legs were properly sealed.

Nothing wrong with purchasing process or delivery process (in fact this was excellent). However the quality of the item is not all good. The front edge of the cabinet is not even; as if the gloss layer has not gone on smoothly; it looks ok from one angle but certainly from a side view it appears rippled/wavy. The quality of the rest of the cabinet is very good.

The stools are very poor quality, they are uneven, cracked and the staining on the wood has transferred to clothing, overall not happy with the quality and I would like to return, please can you inform me how to go about this. Many thanks Geraldine Taylor

The product description of the dining table failed to mention that the product is a garden table and has a hole in the centre for a parasol. The table top is white plastic - again not what i would expect of a dining table. I was disappointed.

I ordered a Madyson chair as a sample for a client, with a view to ordering 8 in total. When it arrived it was damaged. I have emailed twice with accompanying photos, to try and get it uplifted and replaced with another, but cannot get any response. This is proving to be very frustrating, as it makes me look bad to my client and I cannot get the specific job finished until I have 8 dining chairs in place! The service up until I received the chair was excellent - but now that there is a problem that needs resolved I can get nowhere with it, Roisin www.rmccroryinteriors.com

The chair looks fantastic however it doesn't work, whenever I raise it and then sit on it, it goes down. I would of returned it but just done have the time.

Hi Mark, I have ordered from you guys a few times now and was really pleased with the products etc. However I am the lady you spoke to on the phone where I could not get in touch with anyone. Sadly this has happened again! I purchased those Phillip Stark chairs from you and some stools, I have now emailed 4 times and tried calling 3 times, no answer again? I want to return the stools as they are a different colour red than I expected and do not go with the red I have. Can you PLEASE contact me on 07775848335 and advise how I can return these. I will be opening more expresso bars in Bristol over this year and am very keen to buy more of your lovely chairs but I really need better customers service, this is silly. i love the products, but the delivery was poor. the delivery guy didn't want to bring the boxes up to my door (2nd floor) so i had to get them. The boxes were destroyed and the legs of the chair were coming out, one of the chairs was scratched and a couple of others where dirty (though I managed to clean these). Once i ordered the products, they arrived quickly, but the delivery company used was very poor and i think destroyed the chairs. I would highly recommend changing them.

Quick shipping and good prices, but the High Back Eames Office chair was different to the pictures on the site. Different arms, base and wheels. It was for work though so I'm not that fussed, but if this had been a purchase for myself I would have been quite annoyed - I ordered from MDM SPECIFICALLY because it showed the chair with full loop arms, rather than just the top half, which is not what was delivered. Other than that it is well made and super comfy though, but I would contact them directly to check the product is what you want rather than trusting the photos which are not of the actual item.

So we ordered 4 chairs, 1 came the first time and we had to call to get the other 3 chairs. So the other 3 came but they came without bolts for one of the chairs so overall the next day delivery took 2 weeks, the chairs themselves are good and we like them.
