We can see that our dispatch team had contacted you on the 16/2/23 following an update from the supplier, advising that an item had fallen out of stock and that there would be a slight delay as a result. Subsequently, we'd agreed with yourself to dispatch items as and when they were received into stock. “Long delivery time and no mention on website that the fireplace comes in several pieces, forklifted off a lorry in a crate. Needs a fitter once purchased at a cost of several hundred pounds.”

Hi Jo, Thank you for your feedback. We were sorry to hear of the issue experienced with this order. Due to the size and weight of the granite, marble and limestone fireplace surrounds on our website, these are not generally dispatched as fully assembled units. To do so would be to risk significant damage to the surrounds in transit. We can see that we have previously been contacted for assistance in terms of installation and that one of our colleagues has sent through some instructions to help in putting the fireplace together. With the understanding that it is often easier to have an experienced fitter handle installation, we have also offered to coordinate with our service and installation team in the event that you need any further recommendations in this regard. This said, we’re sorry to hear that we didn’t meet expectations in terms of the level of service that we aim for at Direct Fireplaces. “I would definately recommend Direct Fireplaces, ordering was easy over the phone and i was able to use a discount voucher i found. It arrived within afew days and though the wrong one was sent then the correct one was delivered the next day and the wrong one collected. Fantastic service. The fir is in and looks lovely and throws out a good deal of warmth. Very happy and the cat is too”

Hi Brian, Thanks for your review. We're sorry to hear about your experience and the delay to delivery of your order. I can see that the items had been purchased as bespoke and that these would have carried an extended lead time as a result. Unfortunately, part of the order had been delayed further due to an issue on the manufacturer's side. I can however see that our dispatch team have been in touch today having received the rest of the order into stock. You should receive further communication in order to get a delivery booked, but we would of course welcome further contact in the meantime if there is anything else with which we can assist. “We havn't had fire installed yet as when my gas man arranged a date a week after delivery we had to cancell install date as my wife can have 20 to 30 dizzy spells a day and she had a physio appointment come through for that date so we have to wait for him to come back to us with new install date so will get back to you when installed as per phone call I made to you and I was told to check to see that there was nothing broken or scratched or any missing parts but as I'm not a gas engineer I said I wouldn't know if anything was missing and the gentleman I spoke to said that wasn't a problem as if anything was missing he would be able to send the missing parts straight away so hopefully my gas fitter will get back to me this week thanks Mr t smith”

“I like the product but I think the instructions for assembly should be looked at. Illustrations would have helped. I had not been able to actually see the product ‘in the flesh’ and nearly threw away the orange dome!”

“Not a very good fire I payed £899 you have to get on your knees to light it and it is just a ugly looking fire I would not recommended it to anyone as I am disabled I have to get someone to light it for me I was robbed and I am not very happy with it so don't buy one”
