“We ordered a black granite hearth and some fireplace tiles. Really pleased with both and the quality of the tiles, especially. Both items were well packaged and delivered within days of each other. The customer service person I rang and the couriers were extremely helpful, tradional and experienced peple. Great products and excellent service. Cannot fault and would thoroughly recommend.”

“We recently purchased a fireplace from Direct Fireplaces and would say the quality of the item was good it looks lovely however I would warn anyone that there website states Free Delivery they would not deliver my fireplace unless I paid them £40 cash saying “it’s free delivery only if we install it” I argued and phoned another number and got the same man I pointed out it states Free Delivery (full stop) that act in my mind along with failing to deliver it on agreed day with no receipt given - just the driver’s signature says everything”

Hi Both, Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry for any inconvenience relating to your order. The fireplaces displayed on our website do come with the offer of free one-man mainland UK delivery. You had not chosen one of these fireplaces and had in fact ordered one of the showroom exclusive items displayed in our Cheadle branch. Because the bespoke fireplace which you had selected is not eligible for delivery as part of our usual service, and given that installation was to also be arranged via the showroom, the showroom team had quoted including free (subsidised) local delivery initially. As you cancelled the installation just before we were due to fit your fireplace, we were unable to reassign the in-house installer to another job and consequently lost the revenue for the install. As a result, it was unfortunately also necessary for our team to arrange an alternative courier, which was at additional cost to ourselves. It was for this reason that the showroom charged the £40 delivery to your address. We are sorry for any frustration and we do appreciate your feedback regarding the lack of a delivery note, which we will pass on. “Very pleased with the fire and friendly people to deal with. Unfortunately their supplier used an awful courier company to deliver the fire which wasn’t the best experience but it was out of Direct Fireplaces control.”

“Happy with information given for us to make our choice of fireplace. The price and quality on display at the showroom were great. The fitters were competent and tidy in firstly removing our old fireplace and fitting our new Braga marble fireplace.”

“Easy to nagivate the choices available for my particular fireplace size. Your colleague was very helpful with specific information that I couldn't find and also confirmed the reason for a slight delay in delivery. The selected fire does everything as described and I am very happy with it.”

“Can’t fault Direct Fireplaces. Helpful, friendly staff and a great choice of fires. They even held onto it for a couple of weeks until we were ready for it. The delivery company they used, however, left a lot to be desired. Sent the largest lorry ever, which struggled to get into the street (bin lorries have no problem, to give some context) with just a driver. I (female, nearing 60) had to help him get the pallet down from the lorry and carry it into the house. When we got it onto the driveway I suggested he released it from the pallet to make it lighter, and it was only later I realised he had left it and the plastic straps on the drive when he left. So in summary, 10/10 for Direct Fireplaces, 0/20 for the delivery company.”

As per the delivery information on our website, and to quote the delivery email sent by our Dispatch team prior to receipt of the goods: "the haulage company delivering your goods operate a one man delivery with a Tail Lift vehicle and Pallet truck. The driver is not insured to enter the premises but can wheel the delivery wherever he can access with the Pallet truck". On this occasion, it appears that the driver was kind enough to agree to help carry the goods inside, but again we do try to advise where applicable that the driver would not take the pallet away with them. “My original fireplace was not made anymore so I picked another. Delivery was good, all packaging removed and they placed it where I wanted. The fire is now up and running after I paid someone to install. Love it, looks great and throws out lots of heat. Will be buying another for my other fireplace soon. Recommend this company.”

“Very helpful staff in the showroom and good communications with the fitting team. Contractor fitters used, but both the gas and electrical fitters were excellent. Really pleased with our new fire. The only thing I was non-plussed about was why I had to pay Direct Fireplaces £60 for fitting when I then needed to pay the fitters directly for their work - arrangement fee?”

To clarify, we at Direct Fireplaces had only taken payment for the fire itself inclusive of VAT and delivery. Our fitting team at Direct Heating Services (our sister company) is responsible for coordinating installation dates, arranging deliveries to coincide with installations and vetting local installers. Fitting quotations issued through Direct Heating Services will carry a small additional fee for administrative services. The fitter for your order will have been subcontracted through Direct Heating Services, with a deposit payable to DHS upon booking. I hope that this information helps.
