“Fantastic products but their poor stock control means it is very difficult to place an order for 3 or 4 different products as at least one will be out of stock. Then you have to choose between a) waiting, running out at home , and then a different product going out of stock when you do order - or b) shop elsewhere.”

Hi John, thank you so much for your feedback. We're glad to hear that you like our products, and we are grateful for your notes about stock. We are aware that there have been some issues on this front and we are working hard to make improvements for the future. These include new warehousing facilities to hold more stock, which are now fully operational, as well as new production and packaging facilities to increase the amount of products we are able to make each day - these improvements are underway now. “I have started using Matthew's eight grain flour and have found it the best flour that makes the most delicious bread. The only criticism I have is that I wish to buy bulk bags (16kg), but the site just keeps saying "notify me when available" Although you always have 1.5kg bags. I can also buy 1.5kg eight grain from Tesco for £2.80 yet direct from Matthew's it is £3.25. I would highly recommend Matthew's eight grain flour, but i feel the company need to improve their service to Joe public.”

Hi Michael, thank you for your feedback - we're so glad that you like the Eight Grain! We appreciate your notes regarding the cost and would like to point out that £2.80 is an offer price from Tesco (for Clubcard holders) and not the full retail price, and that - as a much smaller business - we are not always able to match the prices that our bigger supermarket retailers can offer in any case. This said, we have kept our website prices frozen (despite rises in inflation) since 2023 - absorbing much of the impact of rising costs ourselves. On your point about availability of 16kg bags, we recognise this issue. We have typically only been able to carry smaller amounts of stock of these until recently, as 16kg bags take up a lot more space than the smaller ones, but after making improvements to our warehousing facilities we are hoping to be able to carry more in the very near future. “After a nice freebie with the Panasonic breadmaker my first attempt at making a purchase was disappointing and not fulfilled. I found the website with its many filters far too fussy - I am not selective on UK or Italian flour, organic or regenerative, and a lot of product was out of stock. I might have to resort to supermarkets”

“I am quite satisfied with you flour. It's your delivery that I have a problem with. WHY do I have to place a minimum order of £60 before I get free delivery? I also order from shiptons who offer free delivery with £30 order. Either you are using the wrong carrier or are just trying to make customers buy more. This is nevertheless very irksome when I need to put in a small top up order.”
