Thank you for your review. We have spoken to the hotel, and they have advised that the system booked a Classic room, rather than an Executive Twin, which you booked online. The reception apparently sorted this for you in a timely fashion and you were then allocated an Executive Twin. Sorry for the inconvenience at check-in. Kind regards, Cotswold Hotel Breaks

Hi, We stayed one - night the room was ok although it backed onto the car park, the bathroom was a bit disappointing, was also disappointed with the dinner menu, also the cooked breakfast was very poor as was the service, we booked on a dinner bed & breakfast deal . One thing we were told all deserts are home made ? 5/6 of them was this true ? in all disappointing.

Been many times to this hotel. Felt they do not provide the service they used to felt restaurant service was not good wether this due to them having a wedding on the Saturday as this was quite obvious at breakfast as a few of the wedding party we’re at breakfast when we were.

It was quite easy to use & ok as web sites go, but would be more to the point if I’d been asked to review the actual hotel break/ stay (in a weeks time) rather than than the booking experience !

The Bowden Hall Hotel room was very dark with only 1 small sash window allowing natural light into the room. Thats probably why the housekeeping staff missed a pair of black knickers, left in our wardrobe. The food from the £22, 3 course menu was poor. no tarragon in the tarragon sauce, and the sauce was brown in colour. My beurre blanc sauce had split and the supposedly cod, was a square of grey fish, devoid of any taste as it had presumably been frozen a long time. Wine was overly expensive and of poor quality, glass of merlot, £8.50, cab souvignon £8.00 a glass. So bad i had to leave mine. We left a day early and won't be returning.

It took several attempts to secure a hotel room for the dates I wanted. I was told that there was availability but by the time the hotel was contacted the room was taken. Eventually a booking was confirmed but I feel that had your staff acted more quickly I may have got the date I originally wanted. Although slightly disappointed it appears to be a good deal. It remains to be seen whether the hotel is if a good standard or not as it was not the hotel I wanted.

Unfortunately I could not mark this higher. This was because we had specified a specific date but when we went into the sited that date was not available. Otherwise the site was easy to use,

Hotels look great, the selection is very premium. The graphic and user interface though look outdated. The search is a bit confusing, I felt like could have worked with less clicks from one page to others. The availability filter not intuitively working based on the date given, one has to click on the room, and then in the calendar inside the room view to have a definitive certainty over the availability for a specific date.

Tried to book on your website but when it came to payment the site crashed, nothing happened.Had to phone you and do it by phone but lady very helpful, said payment and booking now gone through and received notification.

Liked the website and hopefully the hotel will be as good as it seems, however I have not received a confirmation of booking email or text, although my email address has obviously been correctly entered as I have received this review request.

Thank you for your feedback. Your booking confirmation was indeed sent to the same email address immediately after your reservation was made and from our end was sent successfully. Some internet providers, particularly Hotmail, can occasionally mark emails as spam which is why on the last page of our booking process we ask you to check your junk folder. Alternatively our reservations team is available by phone or email to provide any assistance. The hotel is in a lovely location with stunning views. The staff are friendly and the food is fantastic. My only negative points are that the hotel room we stayed was in need of some TLC. wallpaper bubbling and carpet flat and worn. The bathroom was in need of a damn good clean , descale and refurbish. Seeing as we were in the bridal suite it was a shame as it had beautiful views. If was a shame that the poor cleaning and maintenance of the rooms let it down as it has so much going for it with good staff,excellent food and location.

Nothing major, just encountered a few issues. 1. When I contacted the hotel the day after the booking, they had no record of it at first, which caused some confusion for a while. 2. Part of the offer was that the room would be automatically upgraded, but when I asked about that I was told that they could only do this when we turn up on the day - so I'm doubtful this will happen. 3. Even though we booked several weeks before we're due to stay, the spa was virtually entirely booked up - there was one appointment vacancy left in the spa, which meant turning up 4 hours before we're able to check in. The whole point of picking this hotel was to make use of the spa.

When a reservation is made against live availability, it is still necessary for the hotel staff to input all customer details into their system. As you made your reservation later at night, the reservations team would have already left the hotel so would not have processed your information until the next day. Room upgrades offered subject to availability cannot be guaranteed ahead of check-in, unless a room upgrade has been requested and paid for. Should an Indulgent room be available when you arrive, you will receive an upgrade to this room type. Unfortunately, we do not have access to the Spa calendars of the hotels with which we work, which is why we advise to pre-book any required treatments. We're sorry that there was little availability for your stay; should your dates be flexible and Spa treatments necessary for your stay, please do get in touch and we look into changing your dates.
