“Shoe insoles looked different than product photos on website. One of the characteristics I was looking forward to in this shoe. Soles were slightly damaged when I received. Not the quality expected for $450.”
“The shoes have an odd fit to them. The construction is not as thorough on this particular last as they appear online. Returns process is a little cumbersome and I had to go back and forth on the process.
Eventually I gave up on the shoes and decided to just set them aside as they are uncomfortable and I appear to be in between sizes. I had high hopes for Cobbler Union shoes but I will continue with my other brands.”
“The shoes were advertised as brown but when I received them they were actually museum brown. Quality of the shoes are good and shipping costs would have made it not worth a return so I decide to keep them. Also was not happy with the extra surcharge that ups charges on top of the import taxes. I paid $30 in import taxes and ups charged me an extra $25 as service fee. Should be an option to prepare these taxes to avoid this extra charge.
Overall shoes are great. The 312 last is perfect fit for me and the quality of leather and build of the shoe are of good quality.”
“I placed a MTO on the Noah's since size 7 was out of stock. It took over 8 months to get my order. Now the time isn't the biggest issue, it's the fact that after 6mths I sent a handful of emails asking for an update and no one bothered to respond. I understand it takes time to have shoes made from scratch, I've ordered from Carmina and they took almost 5months but at least they sent me a message after three months that there was a delay. I will buy In-stock shoes again however, I will be very hesitant to place a made-to-order due to the lack of communication.”
“Very nice aspirational shoes, but 1. Your telephone number does not work. 2. Your chat service has not worked so far. 3. I cannot get the status of my exchange. In summary, your customer service and online support could improve.”
“Order processing speed is incredible, the shoes are incredible but why do they have to ship them to canada with UPS?! They are the worst... for what was a 50ish custom fees, i had to pay around 200$ for undisclosed "extra fees". Please consider USPS for your Canadian customers...”
“Customer service was fine, friendly if a bit confused. It took a few days to ship my order and I spoke to 2 different customer service reps and received totally different info, not a big deal but not confidence inspiring.”
“30 days delivery....which is not bad for Guam. Package arrived in good shape.
This is my second order from Cobbler Union.
My 1st one was a mixed experience. This one is along the same lines. The essential issue being the shoes themselves. Like with my first purchase the inside finish, particularly the heels and the sides are crude and cheap....it takes several days wear with softening products dor the inside and constant feeding of the leather for the shoes to be worn without getting blisters after one hour. This reminded me about army boots in the 60s. Otherwise the soles and outer shells are of good quality, and the design is okay. I shall wait a while before I take another chance with this.”
Dear Pierre,
Many thanks for taking the time to review your Miquel shoes. Goodyear Welted shoes do require a break-in period which may last more or less depending on the customer. We are grateful for your feedback so that we may continually improve the comfort of our shoes.
With thanks from the Cobbler Union Team.
“The last pair of shoes are fantastic but the suede pair purchased immediately before have a ridge in the left shoe that rubbed on my toe. I wore them once at the home office & noticed during lunch that my toe was hurting. I thought I had an issue with my toe so I wore other cobbler unions around the home office but tried the suede pair again after a week. Same thing :( I suppose in this last, I'd need a half size up or there's an issue with the shoe. The right one has not caused issues.”
Hi Stephen,
