The egg looked really nice, bit sadly that is where my positives end. It tasted absolutely terrible, like pure butter, not worth the money for me.

Oh no, we're sorry to hear this. The egg you had was made from our signature 47% single origin milk chocolate, crafted at origin for us by our direct trade partners Luker in Colombia, from fine Fino de Aroma cocao beans grown in the Huila, Tumaco & Santander regions. This milk chocolate is exclusive to Chococo and contains more cocoa (& therefore less sugar - only 30%!) than most other milk chocolates for a surprisingly creamy yet rich cocoa taste with bright top notes.

The honeycomb Easter egg, that you sent to my daughter was totally smashed inside. I'm rather disappointed.

That's very disappointing for us to hear. Our Customer Care team are there to put things right and ensure our customers are happy, so we'd encourage any customer to let us know if something like this happens.

The chocolate is delicious, it’s so smooth. Sadly, the egg was totally shattered, which was a huge shame. Not just a little bit.. the whole egg was in very small pieces. Seems like it had been bashed around a lot during transit. Not good considering the price of the egg :(

It's such a shame to see our lovely eggs like this 😢️ but we guess this review must have been posted before contacting us about the damage. Once we'd been informed about it, you were very satisfied with the resolution and support that we provided, saying you'd order from us again as 'the chocolate is so good (broken or whole!)'

Very small for the price. Box arrived and we were shocked how tiny everything was. It was a gift and I had to then buy something else to go with it as it would have looked awful on its own. A shame as it’s a lovely idea.

Oh, we're sorry to hear this. Our Dorset Chocolate Dinosaurs are an assorted mix of chocolate dinosaur shapes making a fun Dorset-themed treat for you and your little ones. The product weight is shown on the website, so we're not really sure why there would have been any surprise.

Sadly the Easter egg had too deep and smokey cocoa flavour ,almost meaty/savoury and not sweet nor smooth enough.Being a chocolate devotee and especially of the fine chocolates,I was left a bit disappointed. However I am sure this egg is not reflective of all products.

Sorry to hear this. We've never had our Dino egg described like this before! It was winner of top marks (5/5) in the Telegraph taste test of the best kids' Easter eggs in 2021, and they described it as deliciously creamy. It's made with 36% Colombia-origin white chocolate and 47% Colombia-origin milk chocolate, so there's plenty of sweetness there. Weird .... I guess we'll have to chalk this one down to personal taste 🐣️🐤️

We got the spring collection, but feel there wasn't much new in there and the flavours seem less punchy than we have previously had. Not sure if it was a bad batch or if the quality is dropping.

We're sorry to hear that you thought this. Our Spring Collection contains a combination of bright, spring flavours and has been a real hit.

The chocolate was nice but the egg came broken which was a bit of a pain considering I bought it as a birthday present

We're so pleased that you enjoyed the chocolate but we're so sorry the egg got damaged in transit. If you'd let us know at the time then we could have resolved this for you as we don't like to have unhappy customers (or birthday gift recipients).

hot chocolate, disappointing

Oh no, we're sorry to hear that. Our 72% is one of our most popular hot chocolate flake varieties, and is the same chocolate which we use across our range of boxed chocolates, so we're at a bit of a loss to understand why you might have enjoyed the chocolates but not the hot chocolate flakes. Perhaps it was down to how it was made or the type of milk that was used - we include instructions on the tin for the perfect hot chocolate.

Having discovered Chococo a number of years ago they have been our 'go to' for special occasion chocolates. However, I was really disappointed by the chocolate box subscription bought for my parents' wedding anniversary. The chocolates had shrunk drastically in size since we last bought any - really too small, especially for a gift. Also it was no cheaper to buy three months' worth of boxes than to buy three separately. I'm afraid we won't be shopping here again.

We're really sorry to hear of your disappointment. Both the boxes that we pack our chocolates in and the moulds we use to make the chocolates are exactly the same size as they always have been, so we can't understand why you think they've shrunk. We can only think that perhaps you were comparing the medium sized box (which you ordered) with the large box.

I don't know as it is an Advent calendar and I won't open until the 1st December

Very disappointed. The Advent Collection ordered was a small box of chocolates with a picture representing a traditional Advent Calender on the front, not what I expected. Having previously ordered before I won't be again.

Thank you for taking the time to post your review about our Advent Calendar. We are a little puzzled by your comment as the images and explanation on our webpage clearly show that it is a box of 25 chocolates arranged in date order with a special numbered sleeve and menu to follow inside, and that it's an advent calendar with a real twist - no doors or plastic packaging. We don't want to lose any customers, but if you had contacted us to let us know about your disappointment, you could have returned it for a refund.

Orangutang looked well made and the packaging was nice - this was a gift so couldn't comment on the quality of the chocolate. Dinosaurs were shared with my nephew. They were not as high quality in presentation - lots of scuff marks and surface bubbles and although they were not misshapen looked like chocolates that I would expect in a misshapes bag. Chocolate was not to my taste, overall quality was not worth the price at all. Maybe would suggest to a friend if they were after specific novelty chocolate but wouldn''t purchase again.

Hopefully the milk chocolate Tuan was loved by the recipient. Sorry to hear that you're not a Chococo fan and that you didn't feel our diddy dinos were up to scratch. We're always grateful to receive feedback, but if you'd let us know directly we might have been able to put things right for you.

I often buy more artisan chocolate and appreciate it carries a higher cost. That said however I was completely underwhelmed by this chocolate and found it really overpriced when delivery was factored in for such a meager quantity. Such a shame as it was a gift

Sorry to hear this, but as you say, it was a gift so we can only presume that you didn't try any so couldn't comment on the flavour or quality of the chocolate. What a shame you didn't treat yourself to some of our hand-crafted chocolates so you could try them yourself.

Most had melted when I received So didn’t get full experience sadly

Oh no! If only you'd let us know, we could have taken this up with Royal Mail as that is definitely not how we want our beautiful hand-crafted chocolates to arrive. If you don't tell us when things go wrong we can't put things right.

Overpriced for very average chocolate. I'm sorry to say I was caught in your net via Instagram advertising and while I love your cause and the small business feel, the efforts towards sustainability and good causes, I was disappointed by the product. Egg was very small and flavours were average, all for what I would consider a high price point

Sorry to hear that you thought the flavours of our chocolate were average, but that's purely a question of personal taste. We would say, however, that the eggs were the same size as we showed on the website - size and weight of all the eggs are provided, along with the box height, so there shouldn't have been any surprises.

Disappointed really, the egg arrived on time, no issues there but on Easter Sunday when my partner opened the box, it was smashed into about 10 pieces, anti climax, for an expensive Easter egg!

We're sorry that you received a broken egg. This is clearly disappointing, and certainly not how we want our Easter eggs to arrive. Please be assured that we don't want any of our customers to be unhappy, and we'd never knowingly send out damaged items. We have used our plastic-free packaging format now for a couple of years with only a tiny number of issues which are more to do with how the eggs are handled in transit rather than the fault of the packaging. We are disappointed that you didn't let us know about this before posting your review.

This is an overpriced easter egg and whilst it tastes ok, I really should have just brought a better quality one from the Hotel Chocolate. You live and learn!

Sorry that our chocolate isn't for you and you think we're overpriced, but you can't compare machine manufactured chocolate packed in plastic with hand-crafted chocolate made from natural ingredients packed in recyclable planet-friendly packaging. That's like comparing canned soup with homemade soup made from home-grown veg. Maybe think more about the planet and less about the pocket.

Really dissatisfied, paid nearly £15 for an Easter egg only to open it and find it not much bigger than an orange. Chocolate is high quality but honestly tastes the same as nestle chocolate.

Sorry to hear that you're dissatisfied. Our website clearly displays the size & weight of all our Easter eggs, so we're sorry if you missed that information. It's not all about size though, you need to remember that Chococo chocolate is handcrafted from single-origin palm oil-free Raisetrade chocolate, and after moulding and hand-sealing, each individual egg is hand-decorated and hand-packed in recyclable planet-friendly packaging. No machines, no robots, no plastic and no slavery.

I was disappointed upon receiving my egg as I was lead to believe that I was getting the one with the turtles inside.

We're a bit confused about this review as you placed an order online for a Giant Dark Chocolate Agave Honeycombe Easter Egg, and that was what you received. We're not sure why you would have thought it had turtles inside as the images, descriptions and names of the eggs online are very different. Once you received your order confirmation and realised you'd ordered the wrong thing, all you needed to do was contact us and we could have changed your order.

Chocolates are lovely, Royal Mail insistance that someone can acceot the parcel makes convenient delivery hopeless

Posted 3 years ago
Thanks for loving our chocolates, but sorry to hear you had problems with your delivery. We use Royal Mail tracked delivery service so they generally require a signature, but will leave parcels in a designated pre-determined safeplace or with neighbours too. We wouldn't want our lovely chocolate to just be abandoned, but know sometimes Royal Mail don't get it right, so sorry for your frustration.
