“Before I purchased a Barbour Ogston Jacket from Charles Hobson, I was one of life’s losers. Women laughed at me, men shunned me and when I went to the beach, small children would kick sand in my face. My boss didn’t know who I was and my co-workers thought I was employed by another company in the building. Then I purchased Barbour Ogston Jacket from Charles Hobson and from that moment on I developed a personality and instantly became a raconteur, bon vivant and a fellow well met. I have now gone on to qualify as a Navy SEAL, a stealth fighter pilot and a Major in the SAS where I have survived countless incursions behind enemy lines. In addition, I frequently like to tread water for three consecutive days and once, single-handedly, killed a 5-meter long Cayman crocodile. In my spare time I remodel aircraft terminals with emphasis on conservational issues and I also act as a consultant on Time Management skills to the elderly and lecture on Medieval Tapestries to the infirm. More recently, I have become a renowned expert in urban hang gliding techniques, winner of bull fights in San Juan, cliff-diving competitions in Sri Lanka and spelling bees in the Kremlin. Men admire me and when women see my Ogston, they want to marry me – and yes, it’s all thanks to Charles Hobson.”

“Just a little credit where credits due. Long story but bare with me. Travelling from Northern Ireland to spend time with friends in West Yorkshire. We stopped off in Thirsk to visit the James Herriot Museum and the town in general. As I've always had a yearning for a nice Barbour wax cotton jacket, I popped into Humphrey & Tilly's and as per usual they didn't have my size 3xl..a bit problematic even back home. The kind gentleman in the shop referred me to yourselves and suggested that you may be able to facilitate my needs. He then without hesitation, gave me your telephone number and pointed me toward Easingwold. He didn't have to do this, but fate was dealing the cards here. Optimistically, I gave Charles Hobson's a ring. I'm not sure which kind gentleman answered but he assured me they had lots and lots of Barbour wax cotton jackets in stock, and to top it all, they had my size. Hmmmm, sales pitch, I thought just to lure me in. After some thought, and prompting from my better half, we pessimistically decided to pay Easingwold a visit. On arrival, first impressions, how does a high end, country outfitters make a living from a remote location in this small town. Anyway, nice shop frontage I thought, so in we popped. This is where things took a massive upward turn. Staff couldn't be more accommodating, without being pushy for a sale. True to their word, they really did have an extensive range of Barbour wax cotton jackets, and proceeded to offer advice and show me various styles, options and fits. Wow. That extra mile, really does set this rural shop apart. I came away with the "Sapper" style which fitted perfectly for a larger gent. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the two guys involved in helping me obtain what I previously thought was unobtainable, sorry, but I don't know your names but you know who you are. You sure did go that extra mile to make this shopping experience a success and I'd have no hesitation in recommending yourselves to anyone...thanks again.. Colin from Northern Ireland.”

The pair you received were supposed to be limited as a shop-only sale on a discounted 'sold as seen' basis, with the scuffed sole made evident. Regretfully, it was this pair that were inadvertently sent out to you. The second pair we have are in brand new condition, and it should have been these that you received.
