“I just wanted to share with you some of the feedback from our staff on the sessions Ian delivered. Thanks again, our team and I all found Ian really approachable and a great source of information. He was really friendly and flexible with timings etc and we found him really accommodating. The reason I feel this was so important is that Ian created an environment that was conducive to our team taking things on board and learning. Below is just the staff that have got back to me in writing, but I should add 100% of the team that attended have told me they found it really useful. I thought the restraint training was delivered really well. The trainer Ian was very knowledgeable and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand, breaking things down into simple terms. It really helped me understand the importance of noticing the small signs before situations escalate, so the right steps can be taken early to avoid physical intervention if possible. I also feel a lot more confident after the training. Learning about the different types of restraint was really useful, and actually being put into them helped me understand what they feel like and gave me a better understanding of their impact and purpose. Monique The training was really in-depth and informative. We learnt techniques on how to avoid physical altercations by studying the mental state and ways to calm down the situation *We were taught techniques how to keep us and young people safe from potential dangerous situations. Jonathan B The training was very practical, relevant to the children we work with. Emphasis on deescalation, understanding of the arousal curve, giving emphasis and consideration of the route causes of challenging behaviour. Excellent training that can be input into our daily work, to support the children and our own wellbeing. Larry I found the three days of training fantastic — I learned so much. To be honest, I don’t normally enjoy training sessions like this, but this one was exceptional. The areas covered were in-depth and practical, which gave me confidence in those areas. I took a lot away from these specific training sessions and want to say a big thank you to Ian. I wish him all the very best. Seun”
