Amazing experience for the students. Camps covered all bases and the students grew so much as people over a week. I can guarantee it is a week that they will never forget for the rest of their lives. Our leader Chris was outstanding!

We are so delighted to hear what a positive experience this was for your students not only in terms of their personal growth but that they made memories to last a life time. We have passed on your compliments to Chris for leading the expedition. All the best The Camps Team

My son went to Cambodia for 4 weeks this summer. Yes it cost a lot of money, yes we had the uncertainty of whether this trip would ever go ahead following Covid but oh was it worth every penny and all the eating. My son had such a positive experience. I can honestly say he has come back a changed individual. He is more driven, he is more grateful for what he has. He used to spend far too much time gaming on his PC. He now hardly ever goes on it. He is far more communicative. It has clearly had a lasting profound effect on him. I certainly hoped this would be the case when he first showed interest in the trip but it has far exceeded my expectations. A hugely positive experience as long as you go into it with the right attitude. Thanks Camps International! Keep up the good work!

I have travelled with Camps for 9 years and will hopefully keep doing so until I retire! Our team were in Kenya this year and it was as AMAZING as always. Camps staff in the UK are fantastic and the organisation that goes in to the trip is incredible. Staff in country are very accommodating and cannot do enough for you. It really is a home away from home. The impact it has on the students who travel is wonderful to witness as they are thrown into a completely different way of life, usually returning more humbled by their experience. It truly is life changing, not only for the students themselves, but also for the communities that they are helping by being there.

A fantastic opportunity given to young people in a safe, well organised environment. The chance to make a difference to a community, work together and achieve outside their comfort zone. A once in a lifetime trip.

Hi Sallie, We are so glad to hear your school had a fantastic time on their trip to Cambodia this summer with us. It truly is a once-in-a-lifetime trip for all our travellers and hearing reviews like this is why we do what we do. Kind regards Camps Crew

Camps organised the most wonderful experience for my daughter in Costa Rica which really pushed her out of her comfort zone but made her realise her potential and capabilities and lit a fire in her belly for travel, volunteering and experiences. At no time as a parent did I worry that my daughters was not looked after. The systems that Camps have in place for coping with illness, disruption to travel and communication with parents worked well. The only reasons for four stars - lots and lots of time in country travelling to and from various camps and the trips are so expensive. Fundraising is hard!!

Hi Samantha, We are so glad to hear your daughter had an amazing time with us in Costa Rica and that it made a huge impact on her. We understand that fundraising all the money is challenging, but the sense of achievement once its complete is well worth the effort all our travellers put in. Kind regards Camps Crew

Rory and his staff were FANTASTIC with our school trip. It was planned through Covid lockdown and Rory was incredibly supportive. The students had an amazing time at the one-in-a-lifetime trip in the Indigenous immersion camp. Will be going again.

Just WOW! Our son had the most amazing time travelling to Costa Rica with you. He loved the projects and said his tour leader Cameron was amazing! He said everything was really well organised, the food and accommodation was great and the projects very rewarding. As a parent, I would highly recommend going on a trip with Camps International.

The whole Cambodia trip was an amazing adventure and the students experienced a world completely different from their own. They have worked hard, laughed a lot, supported each other, had lots of fun together, passed their PADI qualifications and pulled together as a team.

We are so happy to hear that your students had a great time with us in Cambodia this summer. Travelling to the other side of the world for 4 weeks is a huge challenge in itself at their age and I am sure they have all come back with amazing memories and grown as individuals. We look forward to welcoming more students from your school on a Camps expedition in the future. Kind regards Camps Crew

The staff was really friendly, the locals were amazing. The camps were peaceful and loving environments where we could relax, play games or get to know other groups. Each camp felt like a different family and every time we moved to a new place we got welcomed with open arms and full hearts and it made the experience 100 times better.

i spent a month in Cambodia on an Impact trip and it was truly one of the most exciting experiences ive had. i spent some time in south-east asia in my childhood and i think that made it all the more meaningful for me to be helping out communities like those who i remember from when i was younger. it’s not easy, i’ll say that much, but i would 100% recommend to anyone considering it. campsint are doing amazing things and its wonderful to see the result of our project work and know it will help.

Wow what an experience my daughter has had. Absolutely amazing throughout from leaving the UK to returning back. The care and support has been second to none. This has been a once in a lifetime opportunity for her and truly memorable for the rest of her life. As a parent I would had no hesitation in recommending any child to take up a camps international expedition- both my daughters has been through it and has made them better teenagers for it. The service is great , keeping us informed every step of the way and it’s great value for money considering all the elements of the trip and insurance. Thank you to everyone involved - incredible.

Thank you so much for the lovely feedback. We are delighted that your daughter had an amazing time on expedition and that she made so many memories to take away with her. We are glad that you felt supported the whole way (before and during the expedition) and we will pass this on to the team here at HQ and in-country who have worked hard to ensure all our student travellers get the most out of their trip. Enjoy hearing all the stories, I am sure it will be interesting for both your daughters to compare notes. We are truly grateful for your support. Kind regards The Camps Team

We have mixed reviews. The concept is absolutely fantastic and we appreciate the challenges involved with coordinating such a large number of groups and people, especially when unexpected things crop up like Covid, extreme weather or political unrest. On this occasion the tour was changed very last minute. We were grateful it was still going ahead, but disappointed by the reality of the back up plan. Ie, overcrowded camps with really not many jobs to do. Pretty sure Camps were aware of this as we mistakenly received an email advising leaders of the numbers doubling, the strain on toilet and wash facilities, and the need to pull together to make the trip successful. There seemed to be very little interaction with the community itself, only camps people, so the sold ideal of having community impact in the real world with real local people wasn’t felt. Possibly due to the revolving door of students with not enough availability or opportunity. That said, the leader was great, there were several inspiring local staff with great stories. It was still a good experience of basic backpacking travel, making friends, but not for the premium price paid and the community project we were sold on. We have a feeling circumstances were not on our side and we were just unlucky. Would we do it again, probably but we would look at similar options as a comparison first.

Thank you for your feedback. We are disappointed the expedition did not meet your expectations with regards to community interaction and project work. In all our destinations we are part of the communities we work with, with our camps built and staffed by the local community - many of whom have incredibly moving life stories. We are pleased to hear you were inspired by our local crew. We will be passing on your constructive feedback to our in-country team. Kind regards The Camps Crew

The organisation and support both before and during the trip was brilliant. Our students had a wonderful experience, as did I, making a difference to the lives of the local people whilst enjoying a cultural journey. I would highly recommend.

Dear Lindsey How wonderful to hear that you felt supported in both the run-up to expedition and during your time away. Working alongside local people on sustainable projects does provide a unique opportunity to integrate with new cultures whilst making an impact! It is fantastic that you are your students got to experience this first-hand. We look forward to welcoming you on another Camps International school expedition. Kind regards The Camps Crew

Camps has given our daughter a fantastic experience. Because it has been organised through her school it has meant she has gone with people she knows. This makes all the difference.

My daughter has recently returned from Camp Peru and I cannot thank the team enough - there are no words to express our gratitude. She has had the most wonderful experience, made friends for life and gained a fresh perspective on life. During the trip, she became unwell and required a visit to the hospital. The care she received from the Camps staff was as good as if she was with her own family. She was cared for so well and we felt happy on the knowledge that she was in such safe hands. Patrick you are a very special person. Before travelling, she was nervous - so were we! At many points in the run up we could have backed out. We are all so glad that we didn't! The pictures taken from the top of Machu Picchu and the look on her face makes us smile every day. I actually get emotional when I see the pictures as I cannot quite believe that she did it! I cannot thank Camps International enough. The experience given to young people is something that will remain with them for many years to come. A million thanks to everyone who makes this dream a reality. The Fraser Family :)

Dear Geraldine, Your kind words and hearing that your daughter has had such an amazing experience has warmed all our hearts here at Camps. We are so happy to hear that she enjoyed her expedition with us to Peru and that the service provided by Patrick was of high quality. We will pass this message on to him to read. An expedition to Peru is designed to push travellers outside their comfort zone and gain a real sense of accomplishment and pride. Whether this is through project work or reaching the top of Machu Picchu. To hear this reaction from one of our expeditions is the reason we do what we do. We can't thank you enough for your kind words and always know that you are part of the Camps family. Kind regards Camps Crew

My daughter has just returned from 4 weeks in Kenya and has had an amazing experience. She got something different out of each camp she visited and it has given her even more of a zest for travel and adventure and is already talking of another trip. Life at home just seems very boring! Their Camps leader was James and she has spoken very highly of him and all the local Camp Kenya staff, especially Yatin, Steve and Stanley. Everything was very well organised and safe, I would highly recommend a Camps expedition to anyone thinking of it. Thank you to all of the Camps staff.

Camps have been super helpful from the beginning all the way up until the end of the expedition. Its been one of the best times of my life and I couldn't have done any of it without them. All the staff have been wonderful and made my time away even better than I could have ever hoped for!

An overall good trip with great opportunities. However, there was lots of miscommunication leading up to the expedition. Due to covid there was no certainty that any trips would run but camps continuously sent unhelpful emails as if everything was going ahead. The expedition didn’t go ahead in 2021 but if you did not choose to defer a year there was no garante of getting all your money back. When my daughter finally did get to go, her group were older than normal due to deferrals. Yet they were all treated as children throughout the whole trip. The leader ensured that there was a lack of independence and gave no consideration that the majority of students in the group were adults and no longer at school/college.

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased to hear that the trip brought great opportunities but disappointed to hear that we did not meet your expectations with regards to communication during the pandemic. As with all our school expeditions, we comply with the British Standard Specification (BS8848) and take the management of risk and safety very seriously. This allows us to deliver school expeditions to all groups (often sharing communal areas) within our Camps in a safe and consistent manner. We are sorry to hear that your daughter felt this curbed her independence as the vast majority of our travelling students come away with a sense of accomplishment and personal growth. Kind regards The Camps Team
