“I purchased the large pallet of oak logs which was described as 2.23 cubic metres. What turned up was only slightly more than 1. Very disappointing for the price paid. It is unlikely I’ll be buying again. On the plus side the delivery driver was very helpful and got the pallet where I wanted it.”

Hi Stella, I’m really sorry to hear the crate size didn’t meet your expectations. We aim for accuracy and value, so I appreciate you flagging this. The volumes stated on the website are clearly stated as loose cubic meter and not the stacked cubic meter which is what is stated in your review. The loose volume we use is calculated in line with Woodsure conversion factors from stacked to loose meter cube. For clarity, a stacked m3 volume is the logs neatly stacked like in our crates, the loose volume is if you tipped them all into a heap of filled them loosely into bulk bags. The loose volume figure that we state is the industry standard way of describing firewood volumes as it allows easy comparison between crates, nets, bulk bags, truck loads and so on. “Calido were easy. A real telephone number which was answered by a helpful person. Online booking easy also. Delivery precisely on time. Friendly driver who was willing to attempt to move the pallet truck across gravel. A satisfying purchase. Really, I'm not just being polite; the purchase, telephone conversation and delivery were really good.”
