“The final product is beautiful and a lovely way to remember my holiday from time to time. I wanted to make the book special so didn't go for the cheapest option but even their mid-range product was still exceptionally reasonably priced. I found the website to not be the most user friendly and a little confusing but once I got my head around how it worked, it wasn't too much of a hassle.”

“The quality if first is amazing, I orders a lay flat lustra landscape book. Easy to design and came when expected. Just wish there was more choices of front cover, I.e leather, and so forth. All in all very good and professional.”

“The thing that made me most happy about Bob Books was the excellent customer service. I had difficulties creating my book online but the customer services team were very helpful and understanding. I am extremely pleased with the quality of my book and believe it is good value for money. The customer service would get 5 out of 5 stars but overall I would score at 4 because the creation of the book online could be frustrating and temperamental at times.”

“My Bob Books album is an absolute delight - so much better in design & quality than I was expecting - arriving just five working days after ordering (just before Christmas)...from Germany, as I was told by the extremely helpful Kemi. I opted for the hardback cover, with delightful Lustre Photographic paper...which is more like high-quality card (I maxed out at 98 pages). This makes the album far superior to the Apple and PhotoBox books I had previously ordered. Where Bob Books falls down is the app (iPhone). You need to ensure you have a decent amount of spare capacity in your phone (circa 3gb for a 98-page book)...I had only 300mb, and the pop-up box didn't give me any clues. As a result, the app continually crashed...unless I was very patient and waited for the pages to all load, and then scroll through the pages very slowly...do anything different and the app crashes...meaning that creating my album of 500-odd photos literally took days rather than a couple of hours to compile...so for me this was the most infuriating app I have ever used! There are a number of layout formats, but you have to stick to the set ones - so no mix-and-matching...which is a real shame, as this didn't give me the flexibility I wanted. Creating an Apple book using a computer was much easier, but they don't have an app yet, and the Bob Books app was the best-looking app I'd tried - but it does have a number of flaws...so I fed back a number of enhancements suggestions to Bob Books... - In 'all pages' view, one should be able to click on the desired page, and be taken straight to it, rather than flick through all the pages to get to it...which nearly always led to the app crashing! - Allow comments to be added in each page. - The page format is too rigid - needs flexibility of changing each individual page, rather than having to use a pair of pages. Apple Books does this extremely well! - Add more page formats. - Make it easier to shuffle pages - and individual pages too, rather than a pair. - The inside covers need to allow photos & messages.Enhancements suggestions... - In 'all pages' view, one should be able to click on the desired page, and be taken straight to it, rather than flick through all the pages to get to it...which nearly always led to the app crashing! - Allow comments to be added in each page. - The page format is too rigid - needs flexibility of changing each individual page, rather than having to use a pair of pages. Hello Stuart, Thank you for taking the time to send your feedback. As you mentioned you do need sufficient storage on your device when you create your photobook. You may find the App runs smoother by closing down any Apps you are not using and backing up and deleting any large files. In regards to your feedback to our current App, we will be addressing many of your suggestions in our next update, including the ability to add text and select single page layouts as well as double pages. “I have used BB twice now, and generally a good experience. The app is great, although there is a tendency for it to crash, which is as scary as annoying when you have been working on a photo book for what seems weeks! (hence the four and not five star review). Once ordered, the final book arrived on time and looked great.”

“The book design site is very good and user friendly which makes it easy to create new books. Perhaps the templates available for frames, borders etc could be expanded a bit as there is a new for more stylish, classy content. Flicking between designer mode and my home page to access my account is not as seamless as i would like it, but that may just be me. Overall a very good service that i will continue to use going forward!”

“The book was beautiful, but I initially started it using the online application. It kept crashing so I had to start again using the desktop application. This was frustrating as I had to start again after hours of work and then I had to rush to upload it in time for Christmas. Also the book took 5 hours to upload, I think you need to be more upfront about how long it takes, as during the process I wasn't sure if the upload had stopped working.”

Thank you for sending your feedback. I am so sorry you found the upload process slow. From your description it sounds like you may have an unreliable internet connection The Online Book Creator, does require good internet connection, and if it is slow or cuts out you will experience problems uploading images, making changes and saving your book. The Bob Designer software allows you to create your book offline and only require internet connection when you upload and order your book. However an unreliable connection can cause this to take a while. Apologies for the inconvenience. Kind regards, Bob Books

“Ease of using the software is good once you get to grips with it, lots of advice available on the help button. Ability to control how much automatic help to use and how much to design oneself is useful. Quality of finished product is excellent. Speed of delivery and packaging is excellent. These books make us and our relatives happy as a book of photographs is so much more accessible than photos on the computer. Our aged relative just loves to show her books to all who visit. Four stars as the books are expensive to make. Overall very happy with the product and will continue using.”

“The only online service that allows me to use Adobe InDesign and create my own layouts. Great results and good service. One star lost due to poor 'live chat' and slightly over complicated website.”
