Hi there Jacqueline, Good question! There are many facets to this argument, the detail to which we are not able to go into here - we recently wrote a blog article on the topic, see below: https://www.bladderandbowel.org/news/public-toilets-good-bad-ugly/ Whilst it remains difficult to persuade Local Authorities and Private entities (such as shopping malls) who are largely responsible for public facilities, you may be pleased to know that Changing Places toilet scheme has injected some large sums into making facilities more accessible for anyone with a disability. Some good news at least! In the meantime, we suggest keeping your Just Can't Wait Card handy, just in case! Kind regards - Bladder & Bowel Community Team

“No contact other than to order a "Just Can't Wait" card. It has been useful so far on one occasion and am sure it will come in very useful in the future. The local authorities have decided to sell off or close so many public toilets which makes no sense. Everyone has to use them!”

“I haven't had much experience, having only discovered you after my continence advisor suggested the Just Can't Wait Card and I haven't had a chance yet to see how well it's received by shops etc. to be able to review it.”

“I’ve read the stories, articles etc but unfortunately none have helped. I’d hoped to get some advice about my condition, and my drinking. Currently if I drink I have problems and have learnt to deal with it. However it seems my way is detrimental to the advice. It scares me a little to follow the advice. I’d hoped to talk with someone who may be able to help? I don’t use Facebook which is apparently the only way.”
