Dear Matthew, We're sorry for the delay to the delivery of your order. The economy shipping method you selected is 3-5 working days, and at present there are delays of 1-2 days due to staff shortages at the couriers, and extreme demand. We placed a very conspicuous notice on our checkout page directly above the shipping methods to explain this. I have refunded your order in full and attempted to request return to sender on it. Good service re acceptance of order. But you should find another courier, We have always on many occasions had problems with deliveries from Hermes. They received our order late afternoon on 24 March. Since then they have clearly not progressed the shipment - apparently according to your customer service department within your 3 to 5 days delivery (must be very difficult for Hermes to manage that) and because we have Mr in the company field and Hermes are trying to find a company of that name with our post code - what tosh. If the order does not arrive tomorrow we will be cancelling.

Hi Graham, Based on the subject and content of your negative review, I have decided to refund your order in full. The refund has now been made and will show on your card within the next 24 - 48 hours. We are not interested in replacing this order. The reason your order was delayed is due to a typo in your address in the company name field. It is not 'tosh'. A human does not look at every single package sent. Computer systems analyse and match addresses. Your order was then flagged for manual review which has caused the original delay which was then compounded by the current situation. I'm absolutely sure you are well aware, there is a serious problem going on right now which is resulting in many members of staff, from various organisations in the supply chain, self-isolating. These staff are not necessarily sick, but cannot work through low-level ailments just in case they have the Covid virus and spread it to colleagues. Furthermore, the demand on courier networks right now is immense, as many shoppers turn to e-commerce as they cannot visit the shops. The situation is like Christmas, but with less staff, instead of more. We have a team working here extra long hours to fulfil orders, many of which are for NHS related public sector places; and many are for folks at home, and for the support businesses that are keeping them going. We see couriers each day who are also working really long hours to keep things going. Working to keep the country moving along right now. I struggle to find the words to use this tone to a customer but I'm really surprised and disappointed at your attitude which is quite frankly tone deaf. Got my batteries ok. They say on the card holds 80% charge for a year or more but on checking them with my meter two were all right, However the other to had no charge whatsoever. I have now charged them and will se how long they hold it for and will get back to you on the result

Every packet of batteries was broken and most of the batteries were loose in the packaging. The packaging wasn't very good either.

Battery station were brilliant and dispatched my parcel the same day. However the courier left my parcel with someone about 2 miles away from the delivery address and the tracking notification said it had been delivered to a safe place.

Products are good and price is competitive. Just make sure that you order the correct size battery. I ordered AAA instead of AA and tried to exchange them. This company does not do exchanges only refunds or re order.This is expensive as you have to pay delivery, then pay to return and pay again for delivery. Kept my batteries and used the old silver paper dodge to make them fit my controllers.

Dear Peter, Correctly, we do not offer free returns. Free returns work on the premise that retailers have plenty of profit in the items so much so, that they can accept and pay for returns. This may be the case with clothes and electronics. As we are already offering products at a very competitive price, it simply isn't feasible to offer free returns as the cost of shipping the batteries is very expensive due to weight and restrictions. Most customers with small orders do find a use for commonly sized batteries, but we always recommend our customers double check the size when ordering. Batteries fine. Delivery absolutely awful. Hermes rescheduled the delivery 5 times. Each time they gave me a 2 hour time slot. Never turned up. Eventually delivered on the 6th attempt. Hermes always like this. If you want my business again, you’ll have to change your delivery company.

Dear Customer, We're really sorry about the incorrect notifications from Hermes. They are sending out emails to customers stating delivery is taking place, and then not delivering on time. We are trying to switch these off at the moment but cannot. In terms of value they are very good. We do offer Priority and Next Day shipping on DPD which is more expensive but offers a higher service level. Simply select these at the checkout. Product and price were very good, but delivery was a disaster. I ordered on Monday. I had paid for next day delivery because I needed them on Tuesday. First DPD lost it in Manchester, and on Tuesday told me it may take 3-5 working days to find it. In fact they found it that day and scheduled it for delivery on Wednesday. But I wasn’t at home on Wednesday, so I requested it to be delivered to majestic wines COBHAM. I was notified it had been delivered on Thursday, but when I went to collect it, I found it had been delivered instead to LEATHERHEAD. So I had to drive there to collect it. This is not what I call “next day” delivery, and I would have expected to have had my delivery cost refunded, but it wasn’t.

Hi Mike, We're very sorry about this, and we can assure you this is an anomaly with DPD. Their service is normally excellent. For so many failures to take place one after another is highly unusual. I'd imagine they were overwhelmed on Cyber Monday. Your order was already discounted due to the code which was entered on Cyber Monday and we don't usually refund shipping issues, as we are not reimbursed ourselves. Your courier provider leaves a lot to be desired. We were away for 3 days so sent them a message asking them to leave the delivery with my neighbours and received a reply saying that this would be done. But the courier just pushed the delivery though a gate where it could be plainly be seen. He then put a card though the door saying that the delivery was in the garden. Luckily enough it was seen by my neighbour who recovered it. I must seriously reconsider using your service if this is the delivery standard.

Hi Mike, I'm sorry the experience with the courier we used wasn't good. Hermes represents excellent value in that we could not ship the products to you for the shipping price you paid on another courier, with a higher service level. It is cost prohibitive. We do of course offer Priority and Next Day shipping methods which have a higher level of on time deliveries and less chances of things going wrong. They are though of course much more expensive. I'm glad on this occasion that you got your order in the end and if you do choose to use us again, it may be worth selecting one of the premium methods to give you more options upon delivery. My order was for two batteries, I paid for next day delivery which did happen. However upon opening the package the wrong batteries were sent. Contacted customer services and replacements were ordered. I was then sent an invoice for next day postage costs which prompted another email to customer services who cancelled the charge. The batteries were required urgently but that never happened because of the wrong one's being sent.

Our system doesn't allow us to zero out the postage charge initially and although we do so right away, sometimes an email is issued in between. Battery Station point blank refuses to refund VAT when they export to the Guernsey so factor this and their delivery if you are considering purchasing from them.

Dear Customer, You have used an older review invite to complain about a newer order in the fact we refused to refund your VAT after you'd placed an order. Correctly, we do not refund VAT at present, to customers in the Channel Islands, regardless of what other retailers may decide to do. We do not even claim to do so. You ordered prior to enquiring about this, and got angry after you had ordered. When you ordered, you saw the VAT on the checkout itself and yet continued on. Placed order but despite delivery note quoting ALL the ordered I in the box, 3 items were NOT included. Contacted firm by e-mail and received apology with promise to dispatch missing items urgently. Still waiting for goods after 4 days.
