Dear Customer, We're sorry that Evri delivered your order 5 working days late, on Christmas Eve. This was due to extreme volumes of consignments put into their network as a result of the huge list of Royal Mail and Parcelforce strikes. Other couriers like Evri picked up the slack from Royal Mail and the late delivery issues with couriers in the UK extended to all couriers who experienced delays. Battery s never arrived, probably due to post issues,on the plus side received a refund.

Hi Mark, We've had a lot of issues with couriers this season. The strikes by Royal Mail and Parcelforce have exacerbated an already busy Christmas period. Ordered 4 batteries and paid £6.95 for next day delivery. They didn’t arrive, I emailed Battery Station. They said they’d been delayed as there is a post strike (they were being delivered by courier not Royal Mail). They said they would not refund any part of the delivery charge as DPD do not refund them! Appalling service. My contract was with Battery Station, not the courier. I will never use them again.

Hi Denise, Parcelforce are also on strike as their members are also represented by the CWU as well as Royal Mail. We do not use DPD and I have read through the reply sent to you, and there is absolutely no mention of DPD at all, so I do not know where you got that from. Your order was delivered 3 working days late, which at the moment is not bad at all. All the other couriers, DPD included are having issues as a result of the knock-on effect of these strikes (which you deny). That is due to them having excess volumes well above their projections, as retailers shift their traffic away from Royal Mail and Parcelforce. I understand your frustration with the late delivery but you clearly have no understanding for a situation that is very obviously outside our control. The staff here are working very long days to make sure that everything is going out on time and going to extraordinary efforts to get items into depots including the use of our own transport. We understand you will not be using us again and we are relieved to hear that, as it is currently impossible to provide you with the service level you require, at this time in the UK. Used previously with good outcome. Recently an order was made, invoiced on 24th November yet no batteries received by 8th Dec. Still waiting.......

Ordered a battery charger specifically for D cells. Description was inaccurate and incomplete as this charger will only charge two D cells, not 4. The picture shows 4 charging sections I returned this item and not only did I not get the original postage refunded I did not get the return postage refunded. The measure of any company is how it deals with customers when things go wrong. This example shows how to destroy a reputation in one easy step. Not impressed won't use again

Hi Geoff, You should have had your original shipping refunded and the lack of that was due to an error at our end. This has been rectified and we have refunded that now. Regarding returning the item to us, Carol did ask you for your PayPal account information so we could refund that as well. I followed that up with another email earlier asking you - but we have not had a reply. I accept the criticism about the shipping not being refunded but not about the return shipping as we have offered. We also made the description better. The image does show a charger with four channels about the same size as AA batteries so it does not look like 4 D cells will fit, but we have altered the descripton none the less. Not Battery Station's fault. Still no delivery I ordered goods 12 days ago and they still haven't arrived. Battery Station did dispatch my order same day but the courier Hermes still hasn't delivered. When I have emailed Battery Station they have replied same day and been as helpful as they can. On my second email they have given me a full refund. So as I say, not their fault but they need to look at using a different courier. Hermes are rubbish.

Hi John, That is correct. When you ordered, you entered a very faulty address with no street name and number. Royal Mail were unable to deliver your item and it was returned to us. We were not refunded for the shipping. We rely 100% on customers to enter their address correctly. Even though we provided a postcode address look-up tool, you overwrote the street name with faulty incorrect information. This was no faulty of ours whatever. So the refund reflected the goods which were returned to us, but not the shipping charges as they were the loss we incurred due to incorrect entry of your address. Hi Abdul, I'm very sorry to be direct, but this claim is absolute rubbish. You're the one trying the scam! There is no mention whatsoever of 'rechargeable', on the product page or category pages for Energizer Industrial AA LR6 Batteries. Also the description actually says 'These AA cells are single use...'. Furthermore, in the specs table in the product page, next to the entry for Rechargeable Y/N? It says 'No'. We also just checked the packaging on the product and once again, no mention of the word 'rechargeable'. Although not definitive, the price of £2.69 for 10 AA rechargeable batteries from Energizer is a bit far fetched as well don't you think? We have no open ticket from you, and you have not contacted us, and no one told you anything before or after you purchased, only what you read on the web pages. Placed the order, all accepted and then a notice to say they were refunding my card. No explanation,ie out of stock etc, just cancelled the order. This is most unusual as I have used Battery Station previously without any issues and have previously received good customer service. I hope this is just a one of, but reluctant to as I needed the order for the cat flap!!

Horrendously unreliable courier used! No issues with Battery Station, professional and courteous. Sadly this company who offer great competitive prices for branded goods, are let down by diabolical lazy couriers. Parcel Force attended my property to deliver, 6 days after the order was placed, no notification or prior warning, and thereafter left a poorly scribbled card. I contacted them to arrange a further delivery, the best option being a post office 3 miles away (6 mile walk for me). I was charged further for this privilege only to arrive at the post off to be informed that no delivery had been made. Battery station were great and refunded immediately however I was left without a sizeable order that was required urgently. Until there’s a different courier to Parcel Force, I won’t be back. Sorry

Hi Alan, We spent quite some time on this issue to try and sort the delivery out. Parcelforce will attempt delivery 2 or 3 times before taking the item to the closest Post Office for collection. The alternative would be that it is held at a depot or returned to us, so for most recipients, the Post Office is the most convenient option. We did actually locate the item at the Post Office and request that it was returned to us. We're sorry it did not work out this time. We have generally very good service from Parcelforce. Alas they use Hermes or EVRI who are unable to deliver their products. Until they sort out a decent logistics company they are just yet another internet business disconnected from The customer by Hermes who are without doubt the worst of all the delivery companies. Can’t delete ver to the building when it is open I can’t change delivery address they won’t change delivery address. I think EVRI have attempted to deliver now more than a dozen times in the middle of the night? However no one seems to be able to work this out? Think of the waste of time diesel. Fundamental system error which no one wants to own ….just poor very poor

Dear Angus, Most of our business customers use an appropriate shipping method which we make available for delivery during office hours, such as our Priority 2 Day Delivery and Next Day Delivery. Evri / Hermes is a consumer service and does indeed deliver outside office hours. Timed delivery methods are very expensive. Even Royal Mail and Parcelforce can deliver up to 6pm when your office would be closed. To get delivery before midday which guarantees office hours is around £12.
