“I had trouble with a form at the end of booking trying to record names. I was not told that I would receive an email with a similar form to complete. Also the opportunity to determine bedding requirements was somehow lost.”

“Our experience with Barnes has for the most part been positive. I think the only negative was the reception staff on our arrival & departure. We found the same member of staff to be quite abrupt when they could have been more welcoming. We found the booking procedure easy and straightforward and the location is very good to start our break. We will more than likely book again with Barnes Brinkcraft for our 2026 break.”

“Excellant faciities and service. The only drawback is the size of the beds, double not kingsize (husband very tall). Experience was as good as other year, many of them but we don't recommend the boathouse too much in case we lose our slot!!! Thank you for the peace and quiet and excellant fishing!”
“Friendly chap ,helpful. Only issue was the sliding top part of the screen was very crazed perspex and needed renewing as you couldn't see through it when it was up, and when lowered I had to sit on cushions to be able to see out over it ps I,m not short . apart ftom that a great experience , and would recommend.”

“Working my way through the process was fairly easy, however I received acknowledgment that my payment had been received but no acknowledgment that the boat had been reserved.”
“Sonnet 2 - 2 adults and a dog. Well informed before and on arrival. Staff were helpful. Bed was comfy and everything worked. Spacious apart from the shower - my husband couldn’t stand up in it. I’m 5 foot and I was ok. Sliding roof both or all was great in the good weather.
Sonnet 2 could do with some new draft excluders on the roof and a new door seel on the bow. (Reported to staff)
Tips: Bring your own bedding as their pillows were rubbish. When you bring your own towels bring a shower / bath mat and oven glove.
We would book with Barnes again but probably upgrade. This boat is suitable for 2 adults,
It does sleep 4 but might be too cosy!

We weren’t totally aware that the day boat was moored away from the property (lady at the desk incorrectly said we could put it near but that obviously wasn’t possible)”
“The holiday was very good. We did have an issue with the telly not working but that was sorted. We did have a problem with water egress on the bed and clothes got wet in the side also. We did report it when we got back and we did take pic of the wet sheet. We had a very good tuition on the boat handling from a ladt called Daisy. Overall the holiday was very good it was just a shame about the water egress!.”

Thank you for the great review, despite the leak. Unfortunately, it does happen occasionally (the wind and tide blow about the boats... and after a hot summer....) It is worth pointing out that we have a team on standby to come out to the boat and fix things like this as soon as we are able

“Well oiled machine. Boat was looking tired compared to photos online which must be on day it was purchased. Boat size was great for 4 adults but would have struggled for storage if all bedroom were used.”
“Even though the boat had a few issues, such as major leaks in the saloon. We can honestly say had a great time.
On return the receptionist was so lovely and staff all helpful”
“Never had a problem with Barnes Brinkcraft, staff very good and proffessional. Sorry to say, although the Rhapsody class have some really good features i wouldn't have one again. Just too techno, don't need all that extra management on a boating holiday. Back to diesel next year. Had two really good holidays this year. Love Omega!!”

“the boat we had is tired ( Ultima 2 ), probably the next time we will look at something a little newer, some parts of the boat didnt operate very well or not at all.
pass over at collection ( on the boat ) not enough information on the operating of the boat ( ie heating ).

the toilet and shower block disappointing ( one male / one female shower ) and not open in the evening or until 8.00 all this was something all my guests said was bad needs addressing in my opionion people are looking for quality this was not very good at all”
Thank you for your feedback. Ultima 2 is one of our older “no-frills” boats, but everything on board should still work as expected – we’re sorry this wasn’t the case for you. Please remember our engineers are on call and happy to come out and put things right during your trip. We’ll also remind our team to make sure the onboard handover covers essentials like heating more thoroughly.
We were a little surprised by your comments about the boatyard facilities, as most of our customers don’t use these while away on their holiday. That said, we’ll take your points on board and review how clearly we explain what’s available. “The boat is a little tired, locks sticky, top hatch didn’t lock and I’ll fitting. Shower didn’t drain and a couple of other small things, noisy pump and sticking table. Didn’t ruin the holiday but would have been nice if they worked.”

For anyone else hiring a boat, just a quick note: our team is always ready to come out riverside and fix any issues during your holiday. If it’s just a small niggle you’d rather not interrupt your break for, you can also use the QR code onboard to let us know, so we can get it sorted for the next guest.
“The forward cabin doesn’t work as a double as you are sleeping on the V joint that is not comfortable as the V is not a tight fit and there is no space to get changed.We are not really big people but it was very tight to open the toilet door large people would struggle with the double set up.I think you should recommend that it is two singles as this will give you a bit of space to get changed ,open the toilet door and be more comfortable. Anti slip maps would be helpful inside the kitchen cupboards as twice we opened the door and glasses fell out and smashed due to the vibration. The rear cabin was absolutely perfect as was the rest of the boat.”
