“Dealing with Balkan Escape was a pleasure. It was nice to deal with just one person and receive recommendations as to what to do in Split and Dubrovnik. We really enjoyed our stay at The Luxe hotel in Split. It was our first stay in a Boutique Hotel . We liked that it was small and people knew who you were. The hotel was ideal for the old town.”

“We gave Balkan Escape an idea of when and where in Croatia we wanted to go. How long we wanted to be there and an idea of budget. They came back with an excellent itinerary, with hotel options at each place we wanted to stay. We chose and BE went from there! Flights, taxi pickups, ferry tickets everything organised. They even found out that the ferry schedule had changed just before we went and arranged alternative ferries with tickets for us. No drama just job done.”

“It really couldn't have been a smoother process, booking with Jack through Balkan Escape. Everything we wanted in a holiday was catered for. The accommodation and the transfers were on point, with every step of the journey arranged for us and ran as planned. Jack couldn't have been more helpful. We had to rearrange because of covid and Balkan Escape took care of that. They even helped us with arranging special touches for the holiday which I had requested. They were also very knowledgeable on trips and the area too! I would highly recommend using Balkan Escape.”

“We booked a very last minute 2 week holiday in 2 different hotels Lapad & Cavtat. Helpful service from Balkan Escape, efficient, answered all questions and tweaked things as we required. We had never visited Croatia previously, it was stunning, Dubrovnik Old Town is a must including a boat to Locrum which houses the Iron Throne for any Game of Thrones fans.”

“The whole experience with Balkan Escapes from the initial contact to the actual holiday happening was fantastic! They really understood what we were looking for from our holiday and made suggestions to help us build out the perfect trip. Everything during the holiday worked perfectly and as I would have expected, the transfers were smooth and the hotels were really well positioned and comfortable. “We had a great holiday to Croatia and Slovenia booked through Jack at Balkan Escapes. We had a good selection of accommodation to consider and as we were booking quite late, he needed to switch dates and locations around a bit to get us an itinerary that would work. Transfers were all great - everything worked really well. Would happily recommend and use them again.”

“We had a wonderful 10 days in September Dubrovnik first. The Grand Villa Argentina 15 minutes from the old town was indeed very grand. We were upgraded to a suite and awoke to the most beautiful of views over the Adriatic Hotel Korsal in Korčula was a very friendly family run hotel 10 minutes from the old town. The only adverse comment being no sitting room should we have had rain. Luckily we did not The Marmont Hotel in Split was comfortable and very central. We were in the town My only suggestion would be a more detailed map to show where the hotels are from the ferries if they are within walking distance as ours were In Split we took a 15 minute taxi drive when we could have walked it in 5!”

Everything ran very smoothly from transfers from airport, hotel accommodation and the itinerary which had all been organised by Jack who was extremely helpful all the way through. He also ensured that our special request with a room type was organised before we arrived there. “Thank you Balkan Escapes and especially Jack for a very enjoyable holiday. The three locations Dubrovnik, Korcula and particularly Split were an excellent introduction to Croatia. The pre-arranged transfers worked well and the directions regarding our transfers were spot on, though it was a bit stressful when a storm cancelled all sailings from Dubrovnik to Korcula, once contacted Jack's fast-time support was much appreciated and the revised cross-country bus and then small passenger ferry crossing to Korcula was one of the highlights. The accommodation was a mixed bag, the Dubrovnik and Split hotels were very good, especailly the Luxe, where the staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay, however, the Korcula hotel's level of service was disappointing and although the view from our room was excellent the often rude attitude of the staff spoiled the stay. Overall we had a great holiday and thanks to Jack will definitely use Balken Escapes when we return to Croatia.”

“I dealt with Jack who listened to our requirements and came up with the goods! Both hotels were outstanding in accommodation, food, service and positions. Hotel More in Lapad was idyllic with our wonderful sea view room. Splendida Palace was just out of this world. Marija our hostess was an absolute gem. Nothing was a problem and she just kept on giving. Thank you so much. Would recommend Balkan escapes and Croatia. Thank you”

“Balkan Escape lived up to all of the expectations hotel and destination wise. Car hire was a problem otherwise it would have been 5 stars. Car staff at the airport were very rude and abrupt. The car allocated to me was covered in scratches and dents. As such this took well over an hour at each end of the hire to address.”
