“shoes are useful, but I need thick socks to be comfortable in them.”

“The medical shoes have horrible insoles. They are synthetic making them slippery and your feet very hot. My achilles heel was hurting badly after starting them for just 2 hours. Emailed backdoorshoes asking where they have changed garden shoes if they still have the same upper lining as mine need replacing (i don't want any like the medical insoles) and have received no reply! Poor service, prices going up but quality seems to be going down.... Shame”

“This review is for my Previous order. I received an email asking me to complete my order although I later discovered my order had gone through. I didn’t receive an order confirmation and so while chasing the order via phone (I left a voicemail and no one got back to me) my sister notified me that the order had arrived.”

“Sadly not very comfortable. Toe post rubs and doesnt suit my feet. However our clogs which we have had for 6 years are wonderful !”

“The shoes arrived on time.the fit was tight for size 9 UK.I cannot wear with thick socks at the moment perhaps they will soften over time.this is my second pair.would order 10 UK in future .hence acceptable rating.”

“These backdoor shoes not as good as the original slip-ons - these raised backs are not good and do not work. Took your advice about ordering a size larger and that doesnt help as the fit is poor. Let's have the old style back please”

“Fantastic shoes but why oh why pack them in such horrendous plastic bags. Come on Backdoorshoes please be more environmentally friendly. I have been buying the shoes for the past 6 years but no more unless you change your packaging. 3 stars because of this otherwise it would be 5.”

“The pattern on the shoes is so lovely, it's such a shame your logo is stamped all over it. My mum (71) specifically asked for some colourful gardening clogs, but without any ads or labels on them. Yours looked just right, but when they arrived, they had your logo on them. This should have been made clearer on your website.”

“I received the wrong item - I have now received the correct item with a gift. As a result of the incorrect item sent I have incurred emails/correspondence to solve the problem. Fortunately I have purchased the backdoor shoes in the past at a show therefore happy with my purchase.”

“Love almost everything about them but they tend to make feet sweat (mine do anyway). I’ve had Crocs in the past which are cool & ‘airy’ but look a bit boring - hence why I gave BackDoor a try.. A few air-holes & they’d be perfect.”

“While basically the shoes seemed very good and fit for purpose according to the advertising they did not meet our requirements. We were looking for what seems to be termed 'backdoor' shoes but needed wider fitting than supplied (arthritic toes) and with a sole strong enough for light digging. Sadly these requirements seem too much for the shoe industry.”

“I bought a repeat of the shoes I bought at an RHS event last year, in the same size but a different colour. Despite following the advice to buy a size bigger than I normally wear they’re tight.”

“I purchased a pair the same size as I normally wear for street shoes but these were a size too big and too wide (and I don't have narrow feed). I wouldn't have felt safe wearing them in the garden. I don't think buying a size down would've made sufficient difference to the width so had to return for a refund.”

“I love my backdoor shoes, this is the second pair I've had. They're so handy to just slip on to nip outside and I love the fun designs and great comfort. This time I've had the washed canvas ones. I thought laces etc might look a bit odd on this type of shoe, but took the gamble and I'm so glad I did, they're amazing! My trusty old daisy ones have been relegated to decorating shoes after I put a garden fork through them, the paint splashes wash off them so easily. The higher score is only denied because of the design not taking in all places on the shoes. They'd be perfect if the designs were more durable.”
