“When I ordered the shoes it specifically stated that a size smaller than usual should be used. However when the shoes arrived they are too small. I now have to figure out how to send them back without any charge to myself. Also the correct size is now out of stock. Not happy.”

“Shoe sizing is extremely poor. Two sizes bigger than my normal shoe size is still too small. Quality, aswell as sizing, has declined a lot in a few years”

“Ordered a pair of men's chunky tread clogs and as per their recommendation ordered my next size up (9 instead of an 8). They are huge on my feet and do not stay on. Emailed on 6th December to bring this to their attention and request a refund. Their returns policy states that I have to pay for postage and this is not refundable. My request was it should be refunded as I took their advice regarding sizing and it was wrong and I should not have to pay to return them. It's now 17th December and still no reply. The product is good but their customer service really sucks.”

“The first pair were very large (size 5) I returned them and as per instructions I re-ordered size 4 and they are fine. Return instructions said I would be reimursed for the return. A month on I'm still waiting, Asked to review returns process easy or hard I would say stupid!”

“Purchased shoes as a Christmas gift, I didn't unwrap from the nice presentation pack before re wrapping. WIsh I did! Upon opening we found that there is a flaw in the print (see photo).”

“I know it is not Backdoor Shoes’ fault but the Royal Mail’s dismal failure to deliver my order of 25th Oct (First Class payment by me!) but it is totally ridiculous that I have STILLnot received my order of Beard Balm. What is being done at your end to discover the whereabouts of this parcel? We are now going to Australia on 16th December and I am concerned that my order has disappeared into the ether, never to be seen again.”

“I have had a pair of clogs for years and love them but I thought it was about time I replaced them. Very disappointed - the new clogs are so squeaky I can’t use them in the evening or morning as I wake up my daughter. The insoles are so loose they just keep sliding out. I want to return them as I am so disappointed and they are not cheap either. Thought it would help to wear them a few days to break them in, but no different.”

“Second time I ordered these shoes. My last two pairs were fabulous and comfy. I replaced them with two pairs about a month ago, and BOTH pairs squeak every time I walk, it is ridiculous. I've even put vaseline under the insoles. They are clearly much more cheaply made, the insole are totally inferior to the previous ones. I will not buy these again, and I do not recommend them, a massive let down on what were an excellent product. I have the honey bees and poppies design...... back door people, you really need to check this out, the insoles do not fit the shoes properly and the literally creak on every single step!!!!”

Dear Tracey, Firstly, we are disappointed that you have received shoes which are not satisfactory and will of course rectify the situation immediately. We sell a lot of clogs with almost no complaints and take our customer's feedback very seriously. In 13 years we have always maintained and improved upon the quality of our shoes. Squeaking can occur when they have been purchased too small or the insoles are not fitted correctly. We feel that perhaps the insoles are faulty given that they don't appear to fit properly as you have mentioned.
