“7 year contracts no customer service complaint department that doesn’t respond. Costing thousands in revenue to businesses. Can only see a class action lawsuit happening soon enough. Sales team promise the earth and constant daily breakdowns - waste of money and breach of contracts ubiquitous. Avoid this company. Disaster all round.”
“We were assured we would be paying no more than our current supplier. Once the contract was taken out we were informed of charges that were not previously told to us and we are now stuck paying more than double our previous cost. Very upset”
“Miss sold by these scammers keep away don’t sign anything with this company! This company must be stopped. Your worst nightmare I’ve lost lots of customers because of this. Company!”
“4Con.... I mean 4com, are exactly what everyone else has been saying on here. Liars and scammers!!
I was approached several years ago by this company who pushed a very hard sale on me in my first year as a new business owner. They offered me amazing things at a great price with incredible service. Instead we have been left with a phone system which is hugely overpriced, terrible customer service and glitches with the phones themselves which never get resolved.
We have 2 Hihi units in the office, (basically an android tablet) and 3 walk about handsets, one of which does not work and one which needs to be constantly on charge despite being send a replacement battery.
For these 5 items we pay BNP Paribas several hundred pounds a month for the lease of the equipment.
Upon calling BNP today as I couldn't get hold of anyone at 4com (even though they are a communications company) I made enquiries as to when I could terminate my contract. I was told that it would be in another 5 years and if I wanted to terminate the contract now, I would have to pay them £36,000!!!
Can someone explain to me how a company can justify 5 telephones to be worth more than £40k!!!??
Something has to be done about this company and the way they operate. It is neither fair or ethical and is causing our business to struggle while we pay these cowboys through the nose for mediocre equipment and service.
There must be someone in law who is willing to fight 4com for us!?”
“I was signed up nearly 2 years by David who told me he was a Director, he's no longer with 4Com. He told me, after looking at my previous phone bills that I would make substantial savings, he lied. Sharp practice and and miss selling !
I'm paying £606.30 a month for the equipment, to BNP Paribas and another £210.00 a month to 4Com (amount varies for some reason). They (BNP) have already had over £11,000 in direct debits.
I've tried without success to terminate the contract but they say I must speak with the finance company. BNP Paribas quoted £35,000 to terminate the contract and then 4Com want over £10,000 to cancel their Service contract. The phone system has been unused for nearly a year. My company has ceased trading, still they chase for payments.
Stay clear of 4Com or you'll be very sorry !!!”
“This sort of business practice must be stopped.
We are Orchardleigh Estate near Frome we signed up to a HiHi phone system. The salesman said it had many great features and would cost less than we were currently paying and after allegedly speaking to his manager agreed to a 12 month contract. We are now paying many times more than we did before, we are now told we are in a 7 year contract amounting to over £80,000. The features such as diverting to mobiles do not work unless you call their office and they can instigate the divert takes 20-30 mins, the system cannot distinguish between missed calls and answered calls (so we cant call back missed calls without calling answered calls) The ansaphone cannot be changed by us so if we are staying late in the office we cannot disconnect the ansaphone unless we call their office again this takes 20-30 mins and their office closes at 5.30pm so to have the ansaphone disconnected and reconnected for a late evening in the office is obviously impossible. Also many other so called benefits to numerous to mention in detail do not work. The system has proved to be completely unreliable we have sent over 80 emails regarding different faults and numerous phone calls costing us hours and hours of our time. One problem was our Bar and Kitchen phones would not ring we reported the problem on Friday 7th May and it took until 9th June over 1 month to complete the repairs with massive losses to our restaurant and business. One of our other phones would not ring so the person at that desk had to go to another desk to take calls this took over two months to rectify, costing thousands in lost time and inconvenience. We feel we were coned by this company’s sales techniques the HiHi system is costing us 7 times more than a comparable new system supplied by a BT Partner, the cost to us averaged over the last 3 months has been £1026.86 ex vat and a quote for the same system from a BT Partner is £140 ex vat so over 7 times more for a system which is totally unreliable with many features not working.
Looking at many other reviews it is obvious we were not the only ones to be miss-sold, if any other company has had similar experiences please get in touch. This sort of business practice must be stopped.”
“Similar experience to many, misleading sales techniques. Free calls that turn out not free, broadband charges without broadband, discounts stop after a period if you don’t extend contract, and these are 7 years long! 84 months, well 24 ok, but next 60 as won’t extend, he’ll!! Stay well clear.”
“Misleading sales and quotes. Discounts expire after 12 months. Actual price being paid is more than double what quoted. Hardware is horrendous. Disgraceful group of companies, directors should be ashamed.”
“Do Not have anything to do with 4com or any of their associated companies. Extortionate prices and very slick sales operation. Total rip off and scam. Currently going through the complaint process with the ombudsman but don't hold out much hope. Do your research and use a small local company.”
“1 Star seems a bit generous to give a company such as 4com. Steer clear of them they mislead you and sell you a contract that promises you will save money if you sign up with them!!!you actually pay double. Still in dispute. Keep away from 4com you will end up poor if u sign up with them”
“DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We were totally misled by the sales rep who assured us that if we changed our contract to them it would not cost any more than our current supplier. LIAR! Despite numerous complaints about the extortionate monthly costs and the mis-selling of the product, it falls on dead ears. We are tied into a seven year contract which we are unable to get out of. The total cost of our 7 year package amounts to around £31,500. We are a small business and can't afford the monthly fees which went up massively after the first 24 months and we were not advised of this by the sales rep. PLEASE READ ALL THE SMALL PRINT. After the 7 year contract is up, the equipment has to be returned in full. This Company are unscrupulous, uncaring SCAMMERS and something needs to be done about it.”
“**DO YOUR HOMEWORK FIRST!!**
**DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE DEALING WITH THIS COMPANY** - it all seemed great at the outset when they wanted me to sign up. Then over time when the extra charges came creeping in and nothing ever made complete sense, I realised that I should have read more closely the real reviews, rather than trust the (incredibly pushy) salesman who promised me something completely different to what I ended up signing up to! The phones are nice, the installing engineers are good, but you have to fight to get the rebates and refunds they tell you that you'll get. Shop around, there are better deals out there. Also be very careful that what they try to sell you is what you're going to get......
MAKE SURE YOU READ ALL THE 1 STAR REVIEWS!!!”
“We recommend you avoid this company. We are being charged so much money it is ridiculous. They lure you in with "credits". Do your research, find another company”
