No stars for 4com/HiHi I'm afraid, Zero Nada Nowt! Please do yourself a favour before signing up, read their 1-star reviews. They use pushy sales techniques and try to force you into a contract. Disguising their tactics using a cashback incentive, their objective is to lock you into a contract on as long a term as possible, and penalise you if you do not take their upgrade each 2-year period. They make you sign a new 5-year contract every two years or the cashback stops, leaving the deal completely uneconomical and extortionate. They will not allow you to negotiate the price at renewal and do not negotiate over the phone, they send an individual into your office to pressure you, as their calls are recorded. They bring their own printer the agreement, and pressurise for a signature there and then. I'm now, paying £1,599pm for the lease PLUS £450 pm call charges and associated maintenance costs, a total of £2,050 pm for a 10-phone system and a £50k exit charge.

Do not be fooled by High reviews this is quite possibly the worst phone system on the market. Despite offering as system that they claim does everything the system is unusable. We have had countless base stations and pads and despite all our phones being static on desks the faults keep mounting up. Call constantly cut off both incoming and outgoing. Unable to call from phones or phones claim they are calling but no sound. Displays locking so system has to be powered off to re use. Had a new display for my base and was unable to use it, helpline claimed my phone was set up incorrectly even though they installed the system. Now this phone is unusable again as problems above. We are tied into a contract but the moment we are able to free ourselves we will. Trying to run a business where we end up using our mobile phones is a joke. Avoid at all costs

I was mis-sold by the Sales person, they told me this was for a 2 year contract, Im dyslexic so when I signed the contract I wasn't able to correctly understand what I was doing and I trusted the person selling it to me. I attempted to raise this when asking for cancellation with 4com, but they were having none of it, the price of the services and equipment being provided is so expensive it should be criminal. PLEASE READ THIS - Run, do not look back, get as far away from this company as you can.

Read the other one star reviews! Seemed like a great company to use BUT Misleading salesman offered to match BT costs but did not make it clear there is a two year discount and then another 5 years at a much higher rate. There is no 14 day cooling off period on your contract and they install the kit as fast as they can to make sure you have no way out. In my opinion unscrupulous, dishonest, scammers. Beware!

Appalling sales policy. If the phone system actually worked as they say it does, it would sell itself. Instead, the salesmen act like con artists, flattering and fawning, in an attempt to deflect you from the [very small] print that says you are signing up for terms that are entirely different from the ones they have offered. This kind of business practice is disgusting. I would suggest you avoid them like the plague.

We use HiHi phones in a Surgery setting - I have to say they 'look the part' and have all the 'mod cons' that you THINK would make the service more efficient and experience better BUT... They continuously cut off and have poor signal which causes our patients to become very angry - increases our work load due to complaints and considering we are in a clinical setting and consultations are important/time limited, calling the patient back/re-booking them in is not so easy with an already stretched service! It is also not fair on our patients to wait for a call and then not receive the service needed! Also emergency calls from paramedics/hospitals etc which require some urgency get cut off/they are unable to get through to the surgery even on our bypass line. We also have issues with the phones 'freezing' on a blank screen again not at all helpful to our clinicians who are triaging calls and have a whole clinic full of telephone appointments. Unfortunately we have had a very negative experience with these phones and like others have mentioned, we are signed up to a 5 year contract which we pay an EXTORTIONATE fee for every month and we do not get the service we pay for! I have called HiHi every day so far this week with an issue only for it to be 'logged' and no one to call me back, on occasion I have got through to some helpful engineers who remotely log into the phones to help but with most issues we experience a remote engineer can only do so much. I would like to terminate our contract with HiHi, but again this has been unsuccessful as signed into a contract, despite the fact we do not receive the service we supposedly pay for! These phones just don't meet our business needs, I wouldn't recommend to another surgery.

Strongly recommend not to use this company. They are extremely friendly and efficient BUT you inadvertedly sign a contract that you cannot get out of. The costs ramp up after the first couple of years. They say that you can canel at any time but with a one-off cost to BNP leasing of over £16,000 (which they kindly reduced!). I am a very small family business paying over £500 a month for a telephone system only used by myself. I have repeatedly begged 4Com to be set free of the contract. They have given me off £70 a month which is nothing and refuse to set me free unless I pay the one-off £16K charge to BNP leasing (which apparently has nothing to do with them) although you don't know that when you sign the contract!

Used the Hi Hi units for a year and now they are developing faults on a daily basis. 20-min waits to get through to customer service; to be told they will get someone to call us back, simply isn't good enough at these prices. When they work they are decent but now the downtime is crippling and the lack of client support is telling. I cannot recommend

Awful business, awful services. We have spent the last 18 months having horrific issues on our phone system. They keep telling us it's our fault with our internal infrastructure, yet our employees experience exactly the same problems working from home. Following a £10k investment on our end to overhaul our internal infrastructure, they are still claiming it has nothing to do with them, and must be our leased line (upgraded to 1GB, with no improvements). Absolute scam artists.

Whilst the engineers are friendly and the technology promotes efficiency (so far), the cost is much more than you are led to believe. We originally agreed to a demonstration, but in reality, it was a hard sell, which we signed up for under a reasonable amount of pressure to do so (such as the sales person wanted his £500 reward after selling to every customer he'd seen that day!), even though I had voiced that I wanted to take a few days to mull it over on more than one occasion. I now wish I had stood firm. The 'like-for-like' service with them (in comparison to our previous supplier) is simply untrue, as our mobile plans are no longer "unlimited", and their assurances of covering all early termination fees with previous suppliers is also an absolute farce. All calculations are made by the sales person(s) and a figure plucked out of thin air it would appear; as a customer you would hope they are accurate with their calculations, or at least honest. So far, we are more than 50% out of pocket in covering the remainder of these fees that we naively assumed they had worked out in full, especially after voicing how we did not wish to incur any costs of any kind to switch over to them, or spend more money on telecomms, than we were doing already. We were also assured we'd get the first 3 months FOC (which was the deal clincher for us), however in reality it is a 2 month deferral with 1 month free (after you invoice them of course). I have since discovered other hidden costs for things like the storage of voice/call recordings from month 6 onwards, and all-inclusive support from month 13 onwards - NONE of these things were highlighted at the point of sale. Another promise was that should the equipment be faulty, it would be replaced same/next day; within a week, my base was faulty and it took many days for a replacement to arrive. In a nut shell, the sales/costings process is dishonest, tainting what I hope will prove to be a good product. Whilst I have addressed all of these issues with 4Com, some are yet to be resolved, such as the early termination costs, and the mobile plan data allowances. And after having read some of the other reviews, I am disgusted to now learn that the 'upgrade' in 2 years time actually extends the contract further - I already thought 7 years was a bridge too far, but this is just unethical! For a small business like ours, it's a bitter pill to swallow.

I have no idea how they have such a high rating. Do not sign up to this company. The contracts are terrible and all the lovely discounts they promise you disappear then they charge you over £600 per month for 4 phones. Our estimated monthly cost was £273. With the discounts we were told we would get for 2 years. But after 18 months they have now been withdrawn and we are stuck paying over £600 for a service that is no better than a normal phone line. Please please please read your contract and do not trust the lying sales people when they hover over you and make you sign there and then without the option to read it all through properly. My fault for being to trusting. Bloody expensive lesson learnt and counting down the time until we can get rid of them.

Very sad to be forced into a new revolving 7 year contract which I obviously don't need. Prices are structured to flatter the discounted term so when they come to address the initial 2 year term and to protect the increase you have to re-sign. This is not the way in which business should be carried out. Wholly unfair and not in the customers interest. I wanted to reduce the cost of the package but again there is no way to do this. This is a form of pyramid selling with no way out for the consumer, so having to sign up for another 7 years. MORAL Do not get yourself into something unless you prepared to be in for life!

Absolutely disgraceful sales techniques to dupe customers into expensive 7 year rolling renewal contracts. No flexibility or renegotiation should your business change ie reduce need. Not clear that they offer a limited discount period before hiking their rates. I was blatantly told that switching from BT would save me money. Once we are free of this albatross of a contract we would never go near 4com again.
