“Great service, nice product. Cost of postage bumps the price up. Expensive luxury, so it won’t be a regular thing with us, but a nice treat.”

“Enjoyed the mangalitsa belly pork most, despite overcoming it. I treated it like conventional belly pork that would have crackling, which was a mistake! The unburnt bits were delicious. Can we have cooking guidelines on the packs? Will definitely buy again.”

Hello Po, Thanks for your kind review. We do find it impossible at busy times to predict what will be available fresh or frozen, as we are drawing constantly on both types of stock. For instance, most items can be arranged on a chilled delivery if preferred but this takes a lot of organisation and most customers are not prepared to wait or a week or two whilst all the different types of products arrive in fresh to us. To get around this problem we have put a note at the checkout warning customers that their order may be frozen, chilled or a mix of both unless they state otherwise. The frozen product can be transferred straight to your freezer, the chilled product can be frozen if you choose.

“The products are always very nice. I have not had a single thing from them that is not best quality. The website is easy to use and they are easy to contact. Only drawback is delivery. But that's the delivery companies fault.”

Hi Paula, thanks so much for your kind words and also your understanding about the courier. We use one of the best, if not the best, APC Overnight, and have very very few issues with them. Of course, when an issue occurs it's a disaster for that customer so we all do our very best to ensure those occasions are few and far between.

“I bought veal to eat immediately and some pork belly to eat later. The veal was excellent but the pork had partially defrosted. It was a very thin piece ☹️. It was dated use by July 2021. When I came to eat it, it had gone off. Shame.”

We were sorry to hear that your pork belly was (30% defrosted I think you said?) meaning that you would have had to enjoy it a little sooner than planned. The reason the date is 2021 is because it did leave us frozen, but it would have been frozen down from fresh and perfectly good left in the fridge for a couple of days. Hopefully the voucher that we have issued will enable you to re-purchase and enjoy a more successful result next time Michael.

“I thought the meats that alternative meats do are really tasty, the steak was fantastic very tasty and tender melted in my mouth. The only thing I would say is the price is a bit expensive for the amount you get, but what you get is excellent. 😊 😊 😊 😁”

“HI ENJOYED VERY MUCH THE WONDERFULL SUCKLING PIG 10/10 ALSO THE VEAL MINCE HOWEVER. NOT AT ALL HAPPY WITH VEAL CHEEKS. YOUR DESCRIBTION OF BEING ABLE TO EAT WITH A SPOON!!! DONT THINK. SO THE MEAT CONTENT WAS SO LOW DUE TO VEINS/GRESILYUC. INTO. THE BIN SORRY NEVER AGAIN.”

Michael - What a shame you didn't enjoy the veal cheeks ... we would never put such a description up on the website if we hadn't experienced it ourselves ... or had favourable previous reviews... really unfortunate that you didn't get the same result. We also sell large amounts into a Greek Restaurant in London who can't get enough of them, so we really don't know what to comment. It does involved a really long slow braise and the small amount of white tissue you describe that is within the cheeks (not veins) does usually cook out. However, luckily the suckling pig turned out really well for you and you seem pleased with the mince. Thanks for the feedback.
