“Thesse are the reasons in am giving 3 stars and if you would like to respond I would welcome your views. The day the Vine Weevil nematodes arrived I carefully mixed according to instructions and watered them on making sure that the coverage was less than the stated amount. A week later I lifted the last remaining bizzie lizzie (BL) in the treated tub to find all the roots gone and a set of about 10 very healthy vine weevils near where the roots had been. I dug around in the rest of the tub where the BLs had previously been removed and recovered 2 vine weevils (VW)that were turning yellow and looked like they were dying. I have treated WV with Pravado VW killer and againg found the results disappointing. Do nematodes work on healthy VWs that are actively feeding? If the dosage is upped per unit area does it have a better effect? If the cost exceed the cost of changing compost then is it better to discard the contaminated compost and use fresh? Do traps for adult beetle work?”
