“The screen itself is quite nice but for the project I had in mind the resolution turned out to be too small, I was going to use it for HAM Amateur radio as a digital mode interface screen for a pi4 but I could not get most of my apps to fit the small resolution the way I would like.
I do use it as a remote mmdvm hotspot monitor meaning it has a web browser open 24/7 to show me who is talking on particular talk groups and its great to play some retropi games on.”
“I bought this screen from The Pi Hut when it was on offer, so got it at a discounted price. Works brilliantly with my Raspberry Pi 4. As with a lot of products from The Pi Hut, there was some very useful information on the website about the tech specs and an extremely useful "Assembly Instructions" resource.”
“Very good product with a great touch-screen display. The only negative is that the on screen key board occupies too much of the screen, so that its use for programming is very restricted.”
“We eventually got this working, but it was slightly fiddly to set up. The video ribbon cable connector broke slightly and took some time for us to fix.
We bought it as a mini screen so we could work on Raspberry Pi / Arduino project. Unfortunately at this size, the Arduino GUI is difficult to use as it doesn't fit on the screen.
This would likely be good for a touch screen-based project (and we may use it as that), but be careful with the ribbon connector. It's delicate!”
“It's easy to install once you see the official youtube videos for installation. Make sure you see the one for the version you have! I had bought official cases in the past but this then renders the cases useless and you need another one that fits the new attachment. That is the main downside for me. Otherwise, for the money you pay, it does a good job. The touchscreen works well and display holds good for the bucks!!”
