Works perfectly, and its slim so the Pi and the PoE connected fit in most cases.

I popped it on using the spacers. The pins are no longer exposed, but you can get extensions apparently, if you need more hats. Plugged into a switch and it just booted. No config needed, no settings, no jumpers. I can now reboot by flapping the switch port. The fans are smart too, they only turn on when hot, rather than constant like the ones I plugged onto the gpios.

Does what it says on the tin and just works. I haven't measured efficiency which is why I don't feel able to give it the full 5 starts.

This PoE hat is a nice simple plug and play solution for instant PoE functionality, super easy to install and works out of the box. It is important to note that the installation of this hat may limit the case selection for your Pi, i ran into some clearance problems with aftermarket case fitment but found the the hat fit perfectly into the official Pi case ( drilled some holes in it to take advantage of the fan on the hat )

Works exactly as expected - allowing me to run the Pi off a Power over Ethernet (PoE) connection. It’s worth noting that the fan is NOISY. Not a cute hum either, more like a swarm of angry bees buzzing in a box. I’ve had to configure the Pi to run hotter without turning the fan on (ideally it would run at some silent slow speed, but that doesn’t seem possible). Would get five stars if the fan was more quiet.

Just a shame the fan is so noisy! A slightly larger fan would be more efficient and quieter. The fan runs about 25% of the time with no processor load in the official case with the top off.
