The supplied ''push to fit""plinth fixing pins definately don't, they pull out as easy as they are to push in. I even considered using Superglue. So until I can source pins/screws maybe via my local Mazda garage that work I am having to go around with my plate attached by Tie Wraps. So that accounts for the low score.

Great service, packaging and speedy dispatch/delivery, as usual from MX5parts. The product itself looks great when fitted, and I've found that putting the rubber seal that goes around it in a bowl of hot water for 5 minutes before fitting it does wonders for the ease of getting it to fit snuggly around the corners of the plinth.Only gripe, as others have mentioned, is that the plinth itself if very flimsy and care is required when fitting it to prevent damage. The plugs included are indeed useless so you'll need to head to the hardware store or sift through your containers of spare nuts and bolts to find something more robust. This is my second one - the first was cracked by someone very lightly backing into my bumper. Fortunately they paid for the new one but it won't be long before this one gets broken too I expect. MX5parts - please, please, please speak to whoever supplies this part and suggest they make it just a little stronger - it surely wouldn't take much to make the quality of this part match it's purpose. Or drop the price and sell this as a disposable item...

Great looking product, easy to fit but too brittle for everyday use. If you keep your car out of car parks and off the street, great... If not beware...Has a life of about 2 weeks before someone will kindly establish where their car finishes and yours begins so having gotten through about 5 recently, I'm forced to find an alternative. The original, that is no longer available was much more robust! However, I'm extremely satisfied with the service and delivery turnaround of the many purchases from mx5parts and... I will be back!

I got one of these and when i was fitting as per the instructions it cracked and i was told that i could only have a replacement if they found it was a manufacturing defect and was not done when fitting. The instructions tell you to drill a 8mm hole and push the outer fixings through the plinth and into the holes which is what was done when it broke. This is of very poor quality and i would not recommend to anyone.Editors Note: As discussed via email, if there is a warranty issue with this product, we would need the item back first to investigate. If it is subsequently found to be faulty, or there is a problem with the instructions, then a replacement or full refund will be offered.

Got the mk 2.5 version and I\'m distinctly miffed as it slightly smaller than my original 2002 plate plinth and shows up rub marks in the paint on the bumper above the line of the new plinth Unfortunatly my old plinth broke removing it or I would have sent this back as the only reason for replacement was that the black pastic had faded, I wish i\'d just doctor\'d the old one.I dont really care what the excuses are the reality is i\'m stuck with this and now have to paint my bumper. Postage fast but i\'d rather wait a wee and have one that fitsI would also back up what others have said about the screw holes not lining up correctly and the plinth feeling brittle and cheap and I too had to use my own screws and plugs to fit and also had to drill my bumper the worst buy so far from MX5 parts so much so I\'m buying my K&N filter elswhere.

Great service! Got this on special offer so was good value to say it came with everything you need. It fitted well into the holes in the bumper and as the original rubber strip/seal was in good condition and already had the shape of the plinth, I used this instead of the new one that was also supplied. The only delay was having to drill holes in the plinth from which to screw in the number plate.

Very disappointing. The supplied expanding fittings are much too short to reach into the bumper behind the plinth. The sealing strip is too stiff, a poor fit and is only long enough to fit the top edge and two sides of the plinth. The only good thing about this item is that it was one of the weekly special offers and was almost half price. At £10 it is just about worth the effort in sourcing your own cavity fixings and sealing strip, at £19 it is extremely poor value.
