Not happy with the plinth - delivery was excellent though. V bad quality - I had to use a drill-bit to elongate the holes so that they fit properly. Then I had to superglue the seal into place(it is not a pliable rubber seal, it is tough and likely to split). It also does not fit the body of the car very well. Not a patch on the original MX5 MK2.5 part. Would have sent back except needed to fit it badly. Cannot work out how someone can produce such an awful replica of the plinth - not worth £5. It's a shame as the delivery was v good.

Arrived next day, much squarer than the original so the rubber edging doesn't fit around the corners and you need to cut it into 3 pieces to make it look neater. The mounting holes didn't line up with the originals, so I had to file out each side by 5mm and use the original fixings as these were larger than the ones supplied. All said, this now makes the front of my car look so much better than the broken original.

Not long had the Eunos. Old number plate plinth had cracked, ordered this, arrived promtly, well packaged...but...not a snug fit, plastic fixing gromets broke completely when fixing screw inserted and screw heads broke off too...(good job I removed old fixings carefully)...wish I had read these reviews before purchase...(some you win...some you lose)...Editors Note: Sorry to hear you had a problem with this item. Should you ever experience an issue such as this, please contact a member of our customer services team as soon as possible who will always be happy to help. In this case, someone will be in touch with you soon to see if there is anything we can do.

I'm afraid I concur with many other comments made. I've just tried fitting the plinth and it doesn't fit snugly to the bumper. The plastic expanding bolts are very flimsy and on tightening simply disintegrated. I will be in touch on Monday. 11 Feb 2012. Eunos Roadster 1995.

This plinth was highly unsuitable. I fitted the plinth to the front of my MX5 as instructed and the following day as I broke to go around the corner it came hurtling off accross the road owing to the plastic bolts supplied. They, and hence it is now no longer in a condition to reattach unless I can find any metal self locking bolts to match the 8mm holes that the instructions asked me to drill into the front of the car. If you do buy this I would strongly recommend you do not fit this using the bolts supplied. I'm now looking forward to hearing from customer services about a full refund for this product.

bought off ebay but from same seller (MX5 parts): Basically like others I found the actual unit does what it's supposed to do, BUT the 'sales pitch' makes no reference to the need for having to drill extra holes into both the plate and the fibre-glass bodywork to accommodate the UK numberplate!Furthermore the rawl-plug-like 'studs' and their plastic screws were next to useless as I could not screw in tightly at all (for the stud to remain fixed) before the plastic screw supplied sheared apart...I was actually thankful therefore for the need to drill 2x 3mm holes in both the plinth and the car so that the numberplate itself is fixed to the car with the plinth in-between by way of a self-tapping screw, if that makes sense!Job took approx 15 mins and I was grateful to having read other reviews first as it forewarned me I might need to do this extra DIY... Sorry it's the last point, but the delivery speed was AMAZING: bought at approx 3pm on-line and arrived next morning; under 24hr turnaround!Would have been 3 stars for the product, but the usual service expected from MX5 parts made it 4; would have been 5 if the need for further drilling (apart from the 8mm holes that were already there, thankfully) was mentioned.David

Considering I have NEVER fitted anything to a car before and have only ever once used a drill (unsuccesfully), this was really easy! Bought it to replace a hanging number plate & I'd removed the old bracket & fitted this in just under an hour. Did have to substitute the fixings as the ones supplied didn't seem long enough to go through my bumper but my little car looks so much prettier now.
