A wonderful bit of kit. Not learned everything that it can do yet, but will do in time. it is better to OWN a Humax that to rent an ordinary set top box.

Very good all round.....apart from the volume issue........Tv has to be turned up really high to hear the output from the box, whereas anything else is very oiud at that volume. Mey be a simple fix, but noticed that immediately

Bought to replace an aged Fox HDR, Takes a little bit of getting used to but currently does everything that I want. Disappointing that the firmware doesn't appear to have had an update in 2 years so is 2 versions behind the latest version of AndroidTV leading to a concern that it isn't being actively maintained so some functionality may be lost sooner than would be expected.

Previously owned a FV5000 Humax recorder. In comparison, the Aura is a lot quicker and one thing I really like is that the Menu for recordings now gives the length of time for each recording. Makes it easier to select a recording to fit in with the time you have available to watch

Sadly this suffers from a regular problem - the whole unit switches off quite frequently - sometimes two or more times a day! I mean properly off, the led light goes off and if it’s recording that’s off as well. A few moments later it starts up again and after a couple of minutes it has worked through a full reload of its functions. Very disappointing after the previous Humax box I had was very reliable. My feeling is that Humax have tried to bite off more than they can chew and their software expertise can’t cope. Pretty sure I won’t be buying another!

The Recorder is good and much quicker than the older ones, but it would not work with our splitter box/amplifier that distributes the aerial signal to different outlets. Humax were useless at solving this - it took a local specialist to solve it and put in a new separate aerial.

Excellent device. I use it with a monitor. The combined cost is similar to an equivalent smart TV, with the added function of being able to record and chromecast.
