Humax Aura 4K Android TV Recorder - 2TB Reviews

Was a nightmare to set up, kept saying it wasn't connected to the internet when it was. Certain functions lost compared to my Humax Fox-T2 which is annoying. The worst aspect is that I am now getting substantial pixelation of the image, followed by loss of sound and then total freezing of the image on certain channels. Viewing the same channels using the TV's tuner (even when the aerial is looped through the Aura) gives no problems whatsoever. An aerial engineer has confirmed the signal is within parameters. Awaiting a response from Humax support as to the next step.

Terrible experience with the Humax Aura Box and and even worse experience with customer services trying to get my money back. The box kept giving me a blank TV screen when changing channels. Volume from low to very high with one press. No app as promised to stream recorded programmes to other TV's with the app. Still waiting for my money back. I've sent an email every day and I haven't had one response. Tried calling customer service and after 25 to 30 min holding I just gave up. I used Humax instead of using Amazon all the time but really wish now I had used Amazon. Unfortunately I would never buy directly from Humax again.

Although it is to soon to properly rate the Aura it seems to be a good product. The only problem with it is that you can not list the recorded programs under set categories ie films, news, documentaries ect. Also although you can connect a USB or an Hard drive there seems to be no way of transferring programs from one to the other which l could do with my old Humax Fox T2.

Returned after 14 days. I wanted to upgrade from my old Humax box do I bought this. I found too many bugs. No app but apparently it is coming. Pausing live TV was the worst. Every 10 mins or so it would freeze and jump forward a few seconds. I could rewind ok and replay the same scene fine so it did capture it. Disappointed.

Good box works well, only problem is for what ever reason Netfix refuses to work with it on the built in chromecast.

As a long term user of a Humax PVR (HDR Fox T2) I was looking forward to experiencing the many technological updates this unit would provide, unfortunately what I found was more like a beta product than something fit for market. In the week I owned this unit, before it was returned, I experienced multiple crashes, reboots and missed recordings. Navigating the software menus was also not the slick straight forward experienced I’ve been used to with the older Humax PVR, this product felt like a generic Android TV experience with a Humax app bolted on top. There also seemed to be a lack of attention to detail, for example when the flip clock screensaver is activated the pairs of numbers are crushed together rather than been properly separated as they are on the old Humax units. As a plasma TV owner I try to avoid leaving static logos on screen but the Aura leaves it’s high contrast interface permanently visible when pause is pressed rather than disappearing unless you press exit, why? At least provide an option for setting a timeout. Whilst on this topic, why is the minimum time before a screensaver activates so long? Perhaps take a look in 2021 when enough early adopters have beta tested the software and improvements have hopefully been made. To end on a positive note, Humax customer service was very good and accepted the return without issue.
