Title: Munar Sobrasada Sausage Product Type: Food Description: Sobrasada is a traditional soft, cured sausage from Mallorca. Made with ground pork, paprika, salt, and other spices, it has been produced by Embutidos Munar for over 70 years. This authentic sobrasada is now available in the UK. Starting with premium quality free-range pork, the sausage is infused with a little sea salt and sun-dried paprika from Tap de Corti in Mallorca. Due to the balmy semi-tropical climate, islanders on Mallorca and Menorca are unable to fully dry-cure their meat. Instead, they preserve it by mixing it with a local type of paprika and age it for a short time. The result is sobrasada, a finely ground soft pork sausage of excellent quality. Its unique soft-spreadable texture makes it ideal for cooking or as a spread. Approximately 2.5 inches thick.

“Too fresh. Needs to hang for at least a month to let drip some of the fat off if you are to use it as a spread on bread or biscuits. If you are cooking with it is fine from day one.”

“We first had Sobrasada some years ago when in Menorca. We used to buy it and bring it back home .That is, until we discovered Basco. We now have a regular order delivered and always know that the quality will be spot on .”

“Rare to find in the UK and this is the real deal from Mallorca. I use this on toast or in a Paella using the Basco recipe. Will need more!”

“Delicious. First time customer of Basco Fine Foods and we were impressed with the quality of the service and the products. Everything arrived within a short period of time and was very well packaged. We ordered a broad range of items including beer and we were not disappointed. My husband spotted Basco's delivery van whilst out on his travels, so it just goes to show the power of advertising. We ordered the same day and had a lovely evening sampling everything.”
