I've suffered from an untrustworthy oven for too long. I've avoided anything to do with hot sugar syrup and whipped egg whites. Bread making has been a no go zone due to the mysterious lifestyle of yeast, and a cold cold kitchen. However as soon as I saw this thermometer on the Bakery Bits website, I knew it would change everything, and it does. It's instant reassurance. I trust it and it works. I would recommend it to anyone who avoids temperature sensitive operations in their kitchen. And there's no mess of a thermometer resting on the side of the pot and inevitably falling into the mix. It's quick too - no peering at a thermometer trying to judge exactly what number has been reached. It's more than a useful tool, it's an open sesame.

Excellent little device, bear in mind it measures the surface temperature not the internal state of what your are pointing at. If you want the temperature of liquids give them a stir, point and click, hey presto! or say a cooking pan, baking surface or in an oven then it is ideal. Thoroughly recommended. Pete S.
