I have just started baking bread and have found Bakery Bits an excellent source of quality equipment. The thermometer is very easy to use and has really helped with managing sourdough timings

Do you know how hot your oven gets? Neither did I, until I bought this gadget. There can be a difference of 40C between top & bottom, even with the fan running. I'm already reaping the benefits; heating my baking stone at the top of the oven then moving it down before sliding in the loaf makes my sourdoughs rise more & spread less. Also, knowing the temperature gradient in the fridge greatly reduces the risk of overproving during an overnight retard.

Handy tool for wood-fired oven cooking but should have read the specs more closely as doesn’t reach pizza-cooking temps otherwise good value (also useful for taking body temperature readings during this time !)

really useful bit of kit, that means every stage I can check my temps of starter, dough, and oven. didnt realise how much i would use it. This is in the essential list of equipment when you are seeking consistency in bread making.
