“I placed my first order with Bakery Bits on the 28th of Feb. The starter arrived on the 5th of March leaking and poorly packaged. This was very inconvenient, but accidents happen, so I held off on writing a review because I wanted to give the customer care team an opportunity to rectify the issue. I reached out to the team via email that same day (5th of March) and on the 6th of March they offered me a refund or a new starter. I requested a new starter to be sent out. After confirming my preference, I didnt hear from them, so I waited until the 11th of March before sending a follow up email... no response. On the 13th March I sent another chaser email asking for an update ... no response once again. It's now been just over a week since I first reported the issue and still no resolution, just radio silence. At this point, I feel scammed. As a first time customer, I've been left with a poor impression of how they handle issues as a business. I'm shocked with how bad the service has been. I thought this was supposed to be a good company for baking items, but the treatment has been abysmal. I don't know if this will get resolved, but at present, I definitely do not recommend.”

Dear KK, I am sorry to read your review and that the starter was over-active and made a mess. It happens occasionally but we should have made sure that the activity had settled before sending (which is why there can be a few days' delay before dispatch). “Fantastic service, Royal Mail throw my order over a high gate into a little used alley at the side of my house and did not leave a card. It lay there in the pouring rain for four days until I found it. BakeryBits sent a replacement straight away without any fuss, great service and friendly people. The replacement still ended up being thrown over the fence but at least a card was left in my letterbox.”

“I have been purchasing the unfortified flours, mostly Italian flour which has made delicious breads and biscuits. Have ordered twice now, delivery has been quick and all flour has arrived in perfect condition. Will be ordering again in a couple of weeks.”

“Found the perfect dough-scorer, sharp and with a protective cover for safety. Better than any I saw on Amazon and better value. Bakery Bits has lots of other items I'd like, once I get my sourdough starter working properly! Excellent service too with prompt delivery. Will definitely be back for more baking bits.”
