“I recently snapped up a case of the Grant Burge Meshach Shiraz 2016 which is drinking rather well now. It's always great to find quality shiraz with some age on it at such a reasonable price. I'd love to see how this develops over the next ten years or so, but Dan Standish has annexed my wine fridge, so I may just have to drink it sooner.”

“Dear Stu, How I hate you! You are making my life so very difficult. Ever since you teemed up with Accolade UK it has been great wines at competitive prices every week - sometimes twice a week. It is so, so tempting, but which wines do I choose to try? I only have so much room in my wine store room. OK. I buy a bottle of each to try, but then the FOMO kicks in. What if I buy something, like it and there is none left. Aaaagh!! That said, over the past few months, I have found some delightful new favourites, particularly from Houghtons. The Jack Mann Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 is a beautifully balanced & smooth - a delight to drink. Cellar for another five years or so - difficult to see it lasting that long! 2013 Houghton Thomas Yule Shiraz - it is a treat to be able to buy aged Shiraz and this is fantastic for the price. Lots of gentle flavours to enjoy, on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Just as well I have secured my stocks before writing this! Keep causing me problems. John”

“I bought a bottle of Grant Burge Corryton Park as part of a larger order and opened it this week to sample. What an absolute stunner - everything I look for in a mature Aussie cabernet and within half an hour I'd ordered a further six bottles. What's difficult to comprehend is that the wine was under £20 a bottle with free delivery the very next day. Yet another example of The Vinorium's continuing commitment to sourcing world class wines coupled with unparalleled customer service. In years gone by I tended to trust Oz Clarke's tasting notes when buying wine.I have absolutely no reservations about trusting Stu's tasting notes and have been on a wonderful journey with him and the team over the last ten years or so.”

“The Vinorium is indeed in rarified air as the premium UK wine merchant for Australian wine. The choice is wide ranging with new and exciting options available on regular basis to tantalise all comers. Having been a long standing customer now over many years they have introduced me to new regions and new varitals I wouldnt normally venture towards. Stu always provide fabulous tasting notes that help guide your choices and the service is beyond premium. Keep up the great work and dont change a winning formula.”

Turning to the matter of ‘Only wish they'd answer their phone and return messages when you want some advice on choices’ You have placed two orders (28 September 2022 & 28 January 2025). You emailed at 13:38 on 28 September 2022. A response was provided at 13:43 on the same day. This was followed with a telephone call from our owner, Stu. You placed your order at 16:27. Accordingly, a super-reactive response from the team… We have no further records of any communication from you (emails, a message via our website or a voicemail). We pride ourselves on great wines and for being super-responsive.
