Beautiful house number sign but the pre drilled markings on the back of the sign for the fixing kit were not level so the whole sign was sloping on the wall. My husband is quite handy but found trying to redrill new holes so close to the first ones very difficult. He then had to recalculate the drill holes to offset the out of line fixings. Very disappointing for such a high end product.

Your products we have bought are excellant,delivered well packaged and on time.Our second order is due to arrive next monday. However the joy of your products have been completely destroyed when we received an e mail from you offering 20% off all your products. This means of we have therefore spent too much on your products .

A great product which would have benefitted significantly had the mounting holes in the rear been drilled parallel and square. This issue made fitting the sign a nightmare.

I can break the review down into sections. 1. The box the two plaques came in could have been thicker and had more packaging around them. There was some thin brown paper and polystyrene noodles to stop them from moving around but could have been more. The plaques themselves were wrapped in thick corrugated cardboard which was fine. 2. The plaques are very thick and heavy and of good quality. 3. The first two lines of the engraving are not parallel to the top of the plaque. They slope down slightly to the right. One of the letters has a slight kink, a sort of bump in the long stroke of the letter. I was considering sending them back because of this, but with the cost and time and once they are in place hopefully it won't be so noticeable. 4. Enclosed were some glue and fixing screws and helpful notes on how the plaques could be fitted. So overall, I'm pleased with the quality of the material and the engraving.

The original bright colours of the design look grey, faded on the printed bottle. Delivery was 2 days late from promised one.

Hi Jill. Thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear that you had a problem inputting an address for delivery - we use an up-to-date address lookup system, although for some newer addresses these can take a while to fully register. You also have the option to enter the address manually, and don't necessarily have to choose one from the list. Hope that helps for next time! Valley Mill
A nice product but I would take issue with the siting of the holes for the threaded pins on the rear. I foolishly presumed these would be a set distance from the top and side edges and drilled my first set of holes accordingly. The siting of the holes was random and this made hanging the sign level much more of a challenge than it should have been. A simple improvement would be to site the holes equidistant from the top, bottom and side edges and to provide a drilling template for the wall. My other small gripe is that the sign is not quite rectangular either (shorter on one side compared to the other)

Hi Rick, Many thanks for your review! We hand-cut all slate for our signs, so it is common for there to be a tolerance of a few millimetres from edge to edge. This isn't usually noticeable at all. With that in mind, it makes creating a set distance for hole placement quite difficult, and when installing a sign we would advise the use of a spirit level, such as when performing any other DIY tasks. I ordered from S Wales for a recipient in Leicester. Her address was filled in but no space for email or tel no which they would need for delivery. So I was receiving the dates and times and passing them on. Otherwise lovely selection of products prices good and I would go there again. Thankyou.

Like any other website, we take the email and phone number of the customer placing the order - when ordering for somebody else, what is generally done is that you put their email/phone number in the form, or just their phone number if you would rather they didn't receive the order confirmation. Just to let you know that whilst the service was great and delivery quick, and the products are lovely. The bath salts box was crushed and the salts had all come out inside the delivery bag. I have made do by tipping them into Tupperware but other customers might not be so flexible. You wouldn’t be able to use as a gift, which was my original plan.

Very good quality sign but reason I’m giving it 3 stars is because the superglue it came with was unsafe to use, it spread all over my hand after I opened the top, there was no warning or even safety advice on using gloves etc. really dangerous.

Not the easiest web site to navigate but two of us managed in the end. Ordered a remembrance plaque. Took a long time to arrive, possibly due to pandemic?

Hi Marie, We're a little disappointed to see this less than great review! We pride ourselves on being available to offer help on our website and are reachable by phone, email and social media to offer advice and assistance. We have spent a lot of time and resources in improving the design tool and rolled out a revamped version in the summer, which has been well received. We realise that some people will still struggle with it, however, and so we can even offer to create a design for you based on your requirements. I can also see that your memorial was expected on the 8th of November, but we didn't manage to actually send this out to you until that exact date and so would have been received the day after. We offer the expected delivery dates as pure estimates, and so are not able to offer these as firm guarantees. We also offer these estimates to you before an order is placed, and once your order has been placed we confirm this to you by email. We are working to a 25 working day turnaround for memorials - this has slightly increased from the previous 20 working days, against our wishes, but unfortunately, a number of ongoing issues such as Covid and supply problems have forced our hand. We will always do what we can to reduce this date if we can if there are exceptional circumstances that mean you would require it sooner. Regarding the packaging, we realise that we have to use a fair amount - but without it, these wouldn't survive the journey from our workshop to your door! We are doing as much as we can to come up with a packaging method that uses less, but also offers adequate protection from couriers/transit.
