“The item was out of stock but I received notification when it became available and it was dispatched promptly to the designated recipient. That’s as much as I can say because it was a gift to my son who lives nearly 300 miles from me and, apart from thanking me, he has not commented on its quality or condition on arrival.”

“I ordered a few acrylic paints recently. The same day, I received confirmation of dispatch. The box arrived the next day. Paint bottles were seal wrapped to avoid spillage and contamination. Excellent service. Highly recommended.”

“I would have left this alone, but Scale Model Shop asked me for a review via email, so here goes! Historically SMS has been my "go to" supplier and usually I would give them five stars. However, beware of Royal Mail if you are willing to pay extra for "express" delivery. In all fairness to Scale Model Shop, they cleary state delivery timescales when you place your order, depending on what option you choose. However, Royal Mail themselves deliver in packages labeled "Tracked 24" or "Tracked 48". On that basis, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a delivery within 24 hours if you choose (& pay for) the "express" delivery option? I recently placed an order with SMS on a Sunday and paid extra for what I thought would be a delivery on the following Tuesday. The package didn't arrive until the Wednesday - I might as well have just paid for "standard delivery". When questioned SMS about it, they were defensive rather than helpful.”

Thank you for your review. I apologise if my previous email came across as defensive; that was not my intention. I simply wanted to clarify that the service is a 1-2 working day delivery, which is not guaranteed for the next day. We intentionally avoid labelling our postage options as "48-hour" and "24-hour" because those terms can be misleading. Instead, we refer to them as standard and express options.
