About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

“I attend the exercise classes every week. The instructors are amazing, they are friendly and encouraging making each class enjoyable. There are a good variety of classes to suit everyone. I thoroughly recommend the Bromyard Centre to all my friends.”

“The Highworth Rec has really great staff who are always helpful. The downside us always having to make card payments for pay and play activities, and the 'you owe us money' emails sent out when the computer system is down. We are unable to pay cash on these occasions. Life was a lot easier when we could pay cash!”

“The centre is always clean and the staff are very welcoming and helpful. The aquarobics classes I attend are very enjoyable and well run. Our instructor ‘Cas’ is excellent and her class is great.”
