About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

“Well used centre for all age groups. Friendly staff, always. Great variety of classes and activities available each day. I’m also kept fully informed about things happening at the centre. Good value for money.”

“Very welcoming, we enjoy using the facilities, the app is very user friendly as well. We go 3 times a week to aqua aerobics , gym , swimming and to a low impact work out”

“Always very welcoming and helpful. I only use the gym but I can’t fault it now that newer machines have arrived and repairs seem to be done on a regular basis. Sometimes, especially on winter mornings and when there’s not many people in, it does feel cold and the air con seems to be blowing out even colder air. I’ve occasionally noticed quite a few exercising in fleeces but maybe that’s intentional! This is just an observation and is not meant as a criticism. Could I also suggest that some means of putting names to the faces of staff is introduced so that it’s easier to sing their praises. They all seem to work tremendously hard and deserve their names in lights!”

“Hello, I have been a member of the Highworth rec. centre since 2014. I love it! the people who work there are great, very sociable, responsive and friendly. The classes variety and timings are also very good. I love classes with Andrea and Martin. They are great fitness coaches with a lot of experience. Charlie, Gen and Pete are super friendly and always happy to help. Thank you so much!”
