I ordered notebooks but they were very poor quality & very flimsy.

Hi Rachel, we are sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the sample notebook your ordered. The reason we offer a printed sample service is so that customers have a 'live' version before going ahead with a bigger order. As my colleague Darren explained we do not produce hardback books which is what you actually want to order, only paper cover notebooks made from various types and thickness of paper. All of our printed notebook products state that the covers are made of paper, so softback/paperback books. Regards Miranda Barnett Director

Beware when things go wrong. I believe Alocalprinter are dogged in their approach & are not concerned when a customer is not happy with their service. In my view they are unprofessional, although good reviews (when things go right) give them the appearance of being upstanding. They have little regard for doing the right thing when things go wrong. My print was late - I wasn't happy with it when it arrived- they were not interested in finding a mutual solution - they cut off communication. I am expecting a fluffy answer to this review which will make them appear to be concerned - they are not. ..and in answer to your repsonse below : Yes you did cut off communication apart from on this review - I have written to you twice asking you to NOT return my faulty goods and to reply but no you have not.. lengthy answer here though? Your response has not changed my opinion just cemented it. - obviously your response is simply a way to appear upstanding when reviews are read, to make the reader believe I am an awkward customer. I am not. It was YOUR batch of ugly card ( I have had kraft card previously from you with no issues - i.e. good kraft card batch) It is your responsibility to check that the cards are suitable to be sent out - i.e. not black smudges/flecks all over printing area to give the impression that the print is poor - simply because (you state) the print was fine, does not mean the error was not yours. The saying 'could not see the wood for the trees' comes to mind.

As a responsible company we don't need to offer fluffy rhetoric when we receive a negative review - only the facts. 1. Your printing was dispatched by us via DHL on 30th August which is within 5 working days of proof approval, as published on our website. 2. You raised your concerns with us 10pm on Friday night, 2/9 that there was smudging on your prints and attached some pictures. 3. We replied Monday 5/9 at 1.30pm to advise we were looking in to your concerns and again at 3.30pm to advise there was no smudging on our samples and please would you send some examples so we could see what the issue was. We also said it was our belief that the marking was in the kraft paper, which is an inclusion paper, made from bits of the cardboard that makes it up. 4. You agreed to return some of the prints for us to check - which arrived with us via post on 14/9. 5. We thoroughly checked the prints with a printer's glass and found that the marks on the card that you had circled was within the paper and not a printing issue. We took and sent photographs to demonstrate that the 'marks' were bits of fibre and cardboard making up the kraft card. Considering that we responded quickly and fully to your initial and subsequent emails we certainly did not cut off communication. We investigated your concerns fully and demonstrated that the marks are not made by the press but within the paper. We are disappointed that you were unhappy with your order and with our findings, which clearly demonstrates that it is not a printing issue. Finally, we are always concerned that our printed products meet the expectations of our customers and when WE have made an error we put it right - as our customers know. Miranda Barnett Director

Terrible customer service when I had a concern with an order i was passed around from person to person initially then unsatisfactory final outcome to my concern . It is very easy to make an error with the online order service , even when I when I attached a comment in the order form comments box to help avoid any misunderstanding it was ignored and created a very costly printing error which a simple email or phone call from a member of the alp team could have resolved. The company refused to reprint and asked me to reprint again at my own cost . I would not recommend using them.

To outline our position again, you approved a set of proofs which we then printed in good faith. At no point prior to us proofing your job did you advise us that you intended to upload new artwork. In a gesture of goodwill we offered a discounted re-print which you refused. We entered in to many conversations with you but the fact of the issue is that if you had opened and reviewed the proofs we uploaded to your account you would have seen they were incorrect and not approved them. I ordered A5 belly band and it’s hardly eligible for A5 and more so for A6 - poor quality also extremely thin paper provided

I'm sorry that you are disappointed with our product. The belly bands are 360mm wide which leaves a 50mm overlap for securing the band around an A5 pad or notebook. We use 120gsm paper specifically so that the bands can wrap easily around the product without cracking. Kind regards Miranda Barnett, Director.
