“Shake was nutty thick and creamy . Don’t expect a smooth shake the downside is you can’t taste the flavours. For the price I would not expect to add my own fruits or flavours . If they had stronger flavoured would have been a 5”
“This was the most disgusting stuff I have ever tasted it literally made me feel ill leaving a terrible taste in my mouth it totally vile.
A total waste of money I would rather starve”
“Wide range of flavours with natural ingredients. My preference is strawberry, which tastes of strawberry. Not too sweet and has a good texture when made into shakes. Requires some adjustments to make it to my taste as generally quite insipid. It would be useful to have a better guide than just 40g when you don't have kitchen scales. Also it only has 15g protein per serving, while most other comparable protein powders provide 20g per serving.”
“One of the best tasting vegan options I’ve found though I have made the decision to stop ordering as they don’t offer compostable packaging and there are other, more environmentally friendly options out there. Also very quick delivery.”
“Very quick delivery so that was good. And they do offer samples unlike some others (Huel, I’m looking at you). But...I had the cocoa one this morning with Alpro No Sugar Coconut drink and a few ice cubes. No discernible cocoa taste and the texture is kind of like drinking hummus through a straw. I managed half and couldn’t finish it. Two hours later I’m still picking bits out of my teeth. I ordered 12 samples so I’ll try another flavour but first impressions? Not for me.”
“I was really looking forward to these, but was disappointed after having my first shake. I bet these would be amazing if they used Xylitol instead of Stevia, as the Stevia leaves a rancid after taste which lasts for hours. I’m going to persevere and see if I get used to the Stevia as I did have a second one mixed with yoghurt and again would have been amazing if I wasn’t able to taste the Stevia.”
“Very quick delivery. Price is ok. The flavours are mild but ok. The most annoying thing is all the little seeds. It doesn’t matter how much I blend them, I’m still picking seeds out if my teeth for ages after I have finished!”
“I love the concept and the packaging, but the taste is not for me. I have tried many of the flavours and they taste all the same. Even by adding fruits I just can’t finish to drink one. It may work well for others though!”
“Purition is one of the few product that’s I have found doesn’t cause me any negative side effects. I’ve used Slim Fast before for weight loss and though it works if you are disciplined it used to give me headaches, it didn’t fill me up and worst of all it gave me flatulence. My sister experienced the same side effects so I know it wasn’t just me. The negative points to consider for Purition are
1) It’s quite calorific on its own before you add a milk of your choice. Slim fast with almond milk no sugar was approx 250 calories. I think this the Purition sachet alone is around 200+ calories so unless you use water it’s going to increase in calories. A shake for me depending on my choice of milk can be almost 500 calories but although I’m referencing calories to give you an example I don’t mind as it curbs my snacking and it’s easy breakfast on the go. I don’t typically eat breakfast so I find that a sachet with 250ml dairy milk and a banana keeps me going for 3-5 hours depending how busy my day is.
2) I cannot use this sachet without some fruit to blend the flavour it is very seedy/bitty which I don’t mind but without some type of fruit or nut butter or something I don’t think I would drive able to drink or it, my default is usually frozen fruit. I don’t understand how people make porridge from this unless you don’t mind a lot of texture in your food, I imagine this would be quite sludgy.
3) it’s quite pricey unless you start buying the bigger bags in bulk the discounts are minimal for the sachets or if you want to try it for a month without a major investment
4) For me a lot of the flavours taste the same aside from the obvious differences such as chocolate and strawberry etc most of the new flavours the taste is subtle and if you add fruit you can’t taste it unless you pick a fruit or milk that enhances the flavour of the sachet e.g coconut and coconut milk
5) You need to use a blender, other shakes or sachets you can mix in a container with a fork or whisk built in but this would IMHO be absolutely disgusting without a good blend. It’s very grainy because of the seeds so if it’s a smooth consistency you want this is not the product for you.
I’ve also ordered Herbalife so i’ll trial that before I decide. Overall I don’t dislike Purition but I don’t agree with all the rave reviews. I haven’t seen any difference to my weight up or down. I run every other day and I use this after a run in place of a meal or for breakfast or lunch but for the convenience and taste at a good price I would use it again. 3/5”
“Cocoa vegan is not as nice as regular cocoa. Tastes like cement unsweetened and alway seems to be lumpy even when blended.
I will stick to non-vegan variety which is delicious.”
“I love the concept of Purition, and they are great when at home. However they are not overly easy to have on the go, due to the need for a blender. However, since buying a portable one this has no longer an issue for me.
The other thing I would say, is that the vegan ones appear to be very different from the normal. For example, the strawberry shake is brown in colour and not all the vegan flavours are nice.
Overall though, it is great to find a company who offers these for someone who is lactose intolerant :)”
“Very prompt delivery of my 6 sachets. I so far tried two. Had bargained for the seediness. No good for husband who was the main reason for trial. Will persevere with the remaining 4 flavours”
“Have purchased a trial box. All shakes taste more or less the same, ( apart from chocolate) very disappointed with the fact I could not taste the strawberry, very plain favour.”
